Yup. Enjoyable session, that. Some real toughies in there. Those excursion funnels always manage to do my schwad in. Took about 2 hours to complete suite 4 and half of 5? Still managing to fudge through with gestures and ping beacons, though, so that's cool.

Only a few left now I think ... Contrary to what some reviewers say, though, I think the coop has quite some replay value, especially for the much tougher and larger chambers where you're separated quite a lot and working on completely different tasks/areas.

I'll be on usual time if you want to try to polish it off and maybe go back to pick up for some trophies.

Got the 'Push Your Luck' cam-baiting one last night, so I guess I must've been baiting her through suites 1 and 2 without realizing. The 'pile through 4 portals without touching ground' one looks simple, likewise the 'dump gesturing buddy in goo from hardlight bridge' one.

Really enjoyed Glados ramping up her mind-games/baiting from around middle of suite 4 onwards. Such clever writing, there.

Yeah, I'm up for more punishment tonight.

Is there an individual test chamber select or just Chapter select?

In single player you can only choose chapters, in co-op you can do any chamber you want.

Woohoo, we saved science with gestures.

EDIT: We definitely need to try and arrange for some of the other trophies, although I'm not looking forward to:

Complete Course 4 with neither you nor your co-op partner dying

Yup: gesture and ping FTW. Mics are for sissies.

Lots of looking around and experimental comedy deaths before the eureka moments last night. Think each chamber proceeded thus:

Stunning game. It's been refreshing to be reminded what videogames - and videogames alone - are capable of offering when they're really at their best. Be hard, as you txted, to go back to more conventional fare.

Well up for some trophy grazing. Annoying thing, though: notice we got cheated out of our excursion (lvl 4) and save science (game complete) trophies. Don't know why. Maybe because we didn't do lvl 4 all in one sitting (I think?), which meant it didn't register somehow as 'complete' and botched the completion trophy too? (Similar thing happened to me with levels in Vanquish). Anyway: buggery. Not too bothered though as it'll be a pleasure to plough back in armed with the knowledge.

That's odd, I got both of those (can't confirm on PS3 at the moment, but they've been synced to Steam and I definitely remember the pop-up for You Saved Science). But yeah, definitely up for getting the rest of the trophies.

I'm 'working' from home today so I checked. Saved Science isn't on your PS3 trophy list. Odd. PSN trophy sync brain-fart ahoy. Anyway, no big deal.

EDIT: Bizarrely they just unlocked when I played a level with some random guy via Steam - which was impressively seamless BTW.

I have the same thing sadly, Bort and I finished the co op game last night but logging back in today, no trophy and it has forgotten that we have done it, so no course select for the final levels. Bort do you fancy running it again?

We finished up Co-op last night as well. Good times.

I read the 'The Final hours of Portal 2' yesterday, okay read. Focuses on a few different people/groups then lightly builds at the end to the last period. It fleshes out a few of the steps that Wolpaw mentioned in the lecture/Q&A but not to a deep level. If you are a valve nut or Really like Making-of/behind the scenes stories then it should be worth the cost. I'm sure it will be bundled with many things in coming sales so everyone will have access to it at some point.

Golgo, We started midway through Group 4 and the science achievement dinged for me.

Briareos, Sure but I'll have to play with my PC copy. It should have synced the co-op progress over hopefully. (Search for thebort and you'll find my steam account.)

Feel free to ping me for this anytime you see me online (and if you can't get a match-up with Bort).

As a note, I didn't sync my trophies last night. It syncs them to Steam seamlessly though (Seriously, how annoying is that? Fix that **** Sorny!).

Trying it again now, lucky for me it has remembered my progress up to the very last level which i have managed to run myself with two controllers (not that easy!). No trophy yet, hoping it will unlock after the credits run maybe?

                            EDIT:

Found out what the problem was, judging from the completion lights on the outside of the courses the game thought i had missed one, I went in and re did it and I unlocked the final trophy on re entering the hub.

I have mixed feelings about Portal 2. Mixed feelings about all it's ingredients, from the puzzles to the environments to the humour. At it's best it's clever and beautiful and funny, at it's worst it's a chore (I'm looking at you in particular here, Chapter 7), drab and overly contrived.

I haven't beaten it yet, nor have I touched touched co-op; so these are early impressions, but I don't see the glittering return of the king many are heralding. I see a good game, a good game trying a little too hard to leave the shadow of it's forerunner.
