Back of episode 3 now and this is flaming brilliant, one of the best games on 3DS. Edge/Gamestm were smoking something when they reviewed it I swear.

Yikes. I was afraid of that happening to me in a few places and one area I came close to just not being able to make it through as a result. The autosave is weird and unpredictable. Sometimes it will save a few times in the space of a few minutes, other times it feels like an age before getting somewhere saveable. Wish they had made that clearer.
No idea what to tell you - any health or ammo you might have left behind that you can go back for?

Just shy of Chapter 9 now and getting really interested to see where it goes next. Might just be me but feels like scanning has largely gone out the window for the last few chapters. Some gorgeous scenes and my heart sinks at first everytime a back tracking section appears but so far there's been a big shake up of difference each time.

Finished this on the bus home yesterday, just brilliant right through to the end and easily one of the best games currently on 3DS. Tried Raid mode out too but found it to be dull as hell, it's just a basic time attack mode. Some proper scares in the main game though and a better enemy design and this would have been spot on completely.

Finished the game today.
Decent length, decent 3d, excellent visuals, and also much more varied towards the end. Also i feel the episodic nature works well.
I'd rate it a solid 8/10 as far as resi's go, but overall 9/10 as its a portable edition with limitations.
Great first attempt by capcom. The score by gamestm having played through is frankly trash.Last edited by PaTaito; 19-02-2012, 20:36.

I started off agreeing with the higher review scores but by the end I hated it and thought the Games tm and Edge scores were bang on.
There is no Resi magic here. Terribly designed enemies that are boring to fight, inane characters, sexism, a counter terrorist fan fiction story and a completely charmless setting. I hate every character, I hate the story and I hate the enemies.
There is a bit where
a character with a stupid voice named Jackass says "that'd be tits"
. Are you kidding me?
Play Resi 1 again, there is so much personality there.
I have also stopped playing Raid mode. Spent 10 minutes on a level and an enemy spawned behind me and gave me a one hit kill. I tried it again and it is that stupid bit
with the steam and cog
. In terms of player guidance this is the worst bit in the game and I've got lost which is a bummer in a game mode where you are scored on your time.
The translation is crap as well, a number of times the enemies are referred to as zombies.
Wanted to love this game as I'm a huge Resi fan but it feels like Capcom have completely lost their way.

Chopemon must have invaded my brain as thats pretty much my thoughts...i hated this game so much its made me trade in the 3DS
Also it made me feel a little bit sick and claustrophobic having such a narrow viewpoint (not as bad after turning off the 3D tbf).
I think i must have clicked six on the poll purely to avoid a fanboy onslaught when really i wanted to go very much lower.

Ah man, I couldn't disagree more :-)
I'm in the 'I'm loving this' camp.
It really has taken my by surprise actually. I'm a huge Resi fan, Resident Evil 1 (Remake) and Resi 4 are two of my fav titles, but yet I couldnt get excited about this one, perhaps the thought of playing a Resi title on a handheld put me off - not sure. I caved though and i've literally not been able to stop playing. Over 12 hours in now and i'm completely and utterly hooked.
It is stunning to look at, controls perfectly well without the second thumb stick, the story is instantly intriguing and it is great to have glimpses of that classic resident vibe. Made me jump a few times now. This is a huge improvement over Resident Evil 5 and has me more excited about 6 (after 5 I started to loss hope for future sequels). This isnt in the same league as 1, 2 or 4 - but it can proudly sit next to them as a solid installment.
Back to it :-D
