I haven't found the shotgun either!!! I hope ive not missed it!
Loving this so far, really brings back the closeness of the older RE's for me, which I guess is down to 3DS limitations. Shame it gets laggy thou sometimes for me in lifts and opening certain doors that have alot of animation to them.
Does the circle pad make much of a difference, control wise?

Just beat the campaign. It is a good game, but it does have some issues in my view. Like the how the raid mode seems to be more fleshed out than the campaign one. The chapter/episode thing sounds fine at first,
but in reality there is Jill's part, which is the main part, and the side chapters where you play the others characters, but with limitations, like you cannot customise their guns or even use the weapon boxes.
One thing I would recommend is, read the manual, especially the section about how saving works.
Overall I enjoyed it, hopefully capcom will make a sequel to it.

There are two shotguns, during the first run, one it on the wall in one of the bedrooms, you will need a item to get it off the wall. The other one you will get from Chris, IIRC, once he joins up with Jill.

Played through the first couple of chapters now and, generally, I'm really enjoying this. The ship is a pretty good location and fairly atmospheric and it seems to have improved somewhat since the demo. I do find it funny though that they pretty much made it into the mansion, like having a mansion in five games or so already wasn't enough (hoping there's a lab on the bottom deck). I'm getting used to the circle pad add-on. It doesn't really need it and does get in the way of a couple of things (hammering Y and the dodge) but generally I like the feel and does seem to make combat a little easier.
Speaking of which, so far the combat hasn't grabbed me. The creatures just wobble around and don't interest me. I take little pleasure in putting them down. Not like a good zombie. Also didn't like the
Chris
bit as it was really just like going for a walk, albeit it in a pretty location. Not sure breaking up the main game was all that good an idea.
Still, those few things aside, the game is definitely grabbing me and I'm glad there is something like this on the 3DS. Does this pretty much make Mercenaries redundant or is there any reason for me to pick that up at some point?

Clocked this with a playtime of 9hrs 45mins. Didn't feel that long though. Weirdly I have no desire to play through it again though. With Resi 4 & 5 I jumped straight back in but I don't have that feeling with this.
I thought the plot was a little too convoluted for its own good. I miss the good old' days of Umbrella and the T-Virus. Now we have parasites, differing versions of the parasites & loads of different viruses. Getting a bit much.
I felt the whole character swapping thing was a bit naff too. Hoping it doesnt foreshadow Resi 6.

Get on Raid mode, I've put 20 hours into it. Fully addicted.

I'm on chapter 5 now and still enjoying it. It does look pretty great generally. Second boss kicked my ass and now I have little by way of ammo or health items but I'm sure I'll find more. The non-Jill missions do frustrate slightly because they seem to add little and yet break the main game up needlessly. And yet I can see the idea. I think it's probably just a bit of wasted potential because they put loads of effort into modelling these other places and yet none of the levels are laid out in an interesting way. They just look pretty. Had they shown us other people going through scary stuff it might have worked. Still really wishing the enemies were better - I think it's some primal thing that, because they're faceless, Incan take no pleasure in killing them. It's like shooting robot sentries or something in a game, not quite the same is it?
I may have missed a plot point though -
Jill was on the ship looking for Jill, right? But now Chris is on his way to the ship to look for Jill? What have I missed?

Finished chapter 9 earlier today. I'm really enjoying this. The scope isn't like that of RE4 or RE5 but I think the episodic structure works on the 3DS. I played Ocarina of Time and whilst it was a great game, the feel of the game really didn't sit well with it as a portable game.
The streetpass for this game is pretty clever. The person who you met will become a monster in one of the raid levels. In this case, he appeared in the first of the levels that I hadn't completed. The stage selection will show a purple crown and in-game, the monster will show that person's handle. After killing him and completing that raid stage, you'll achieve a mission and also get some item upgrades. A very trick indeed.
