I play more games on other people consoles. Don't read too much into gamertags. I love Borderlands for instance yet it has never even been loaded on my machine.

Capcom are bollocks these days. All they care about is Monster Hunter.

That old chestnut and get out . I play games on my mates consoles but when games have 20 hours and are focused more on the single player adventure I like to buy the game and play it for myself .

I caved in and simply couldn't wait for the PC Version (though, I'll get that anyway!!). It's fantastic, a nice balance of everything really - I would consider myself a hardcore old-skool DMC player and yet I love this.

Yes, I'm basically S Ranking every mission on my first try, but as ETC pointed out elsewhere I have played these types of games a lot before.

Story and characterisation is something I'm actually quite enjoying too...

Course it's all a bit easier to play then previous entries, but some people would have you believe it's suddenly become a mindless, simple hack and slash - that's just not the case.

It's just cool to hate DmC for reasons I don't understand... Dante doesn't have a red jacket or white hair. Get over it!

How many dozens of hours do you think this game has in it then?

I'll let you know when I'm done with it. It's very good - give it another chance.

Just noticed scores of 1 and 2 - makes you think people should actually try some proper bad games like Superman 64...

Or even try buying and playing the game in question

I've only played demos of Ninja Theory games so far but in the past they never did anything to impress me in any way to buy a full game from them. Reading reviews and opinions about Enslaved for instance it seemed like my issues with the demo were not resolved in the full game. I'd agree with Nakamura's about their games having poor combat as well as reoccurring technical problems. Framerates always seemed to be an achilles heel with them which is ironic considering how DMC usually runs. It's nice to see MGRR will be 60 fps and look amazing too.

The demo of this seemed like a step up from their usual work but heavy involvement from Capcom might explain that. Looking forward to the PC version.

I've already played it. It's as generic as everything else. Let's see if people are still playing it in six months, or even six weeks.

I'm guessing you weren't arsed about grades, and were just running through normal for for the story? That's completely missing the point, these games are based around the old arcade games going as far back as the likes of Ghouls and Ghosts and the like. It's about getting through the game on a 1cc, or a 1up, or in this case it's taken to the extreme and you should be aiming to get through without getting hit at all (that's why the SS/SSS/Pure Platinum grades are there).

Just whizzing through normal mode is effectively like grinding through Metal Slug 3 with 127 credits, then claiming "That was great! 9/10!!1", then moving on. The core of the game would have gone completely over your head.

Imagine if the next Gradius game ditched its intense gameplay and boss battles to make way for a more engaging story aimed at the typical western audience? There'd be a ****ing outrage, and rightly so.

That's just mindless. If you want a decent story you are searching for it in the wrong genre, mate. You don't turn to a style/combo attack game for a good story. Mind, that's why I don't play FIFA, without all the drama of players shagging around with each other's wives and being racist towards one another it's not quite the same.

This will be forgotten in a couple of weeks, I can't find any gameplay discussion anywhere as it is. Which, is a shame, because I actually want this to be good. It's healthy for competition within the genre.
For a start, Metal Slug 3 is great, even if you use 1200 credits, nevermind 120.

Secondly if you only played DMC for 2 hours then You did not complete the game on Devil Hunter, as it's about 10 hours long.

Im guessing you only played the first few missions, which admittedly are easy, however the difficulty in this game has a pretty good curve and it becomes harder as the game goes on.

The fact that you only played the game 2 hours then scored it proved my initial point. You can't review a game by only playing a 5th of it.

Ignorance is bliss when you're talking about the person who's ignorant, but when consider the people who have to deal with that persons ignorance it becomes an annoyance. People may want to check the poll to see opinions of the game, if you haven't given a fair opinion then you are spoiling the poll for people, and you can't give a fair opinion when you've hardly scratched the surface of the game.

Another thing worth pointing out is that even the games menu states that Devil Hunter is not the "full DMC experience" and you should have been playing it on the higher starting difficulty if you wanted the kind of challenge you are talking about. So I'd suggest reading the description of a games difficulty levels in Future before you jump on the game saying its too easy.

Not on your gamertag and it isn't out on the PC yet. I guess you played down a mates house.

Lol, Not many people play games they've finished, 6 months down the line.

Why not? DMC3 was played for years after its release and Bayonetta is still being played.
