Stupid question but can you play on pro pad using the screen on the game pad?

Wouldn't think that would be an option.

Pretty sure you can, I had the gamepad screen running last night while using a pro pad. Handy if you have the charge stand I guess.

I've just got the Wii U D/L version. I figured D/L was better than disc seeing as nowhere has it in stock, then I check after I start the D/L, and find that my local CEX has it in for cheaper... :/ I guess I can justify the lengthy time I'll be playing it as a reason to have it on the HDD. Or something.

I'm going to start playing in about an hour. It looks pretty bewildering, but I've decided I want to use a bow. Shall I just start playing or do I need to consult a wiki?

The first few quests are very training-like so play those and ask about what you don't get. Practice against smaller enemies whenever you go with an unfamilar weapon type so you get the controls down.
I'll finally be back on it on Tuesday afternoon after my exam is done

I'm just going through all of the guild quests for now. I figure that'll help level me up and then I can try out some multiplayer. Good plan?

You can bring whatever item you gained in single player to multiplayer and viceversa, so yes.

Do the Guild Quests in the village as they are slightly easier and get you in the swing for the ones in multiplayer/the tavern.
The armour you start with is usable with both gunner and blademaster weapons so try out the weapons and see what you like, then go for some stronger armour for the weapon type you like best.

That's what im doing currently. I've upgraded to chainmail armour. I've not really taken any damage yet, due to my ranged attack. I can't seem to equip any coatings though. Do I need a different bow?

Different bows can equip different coatings. Press X+A together to set selected coating.

I've got that sorted. I'm going to try my hand at multiplayer now.

Dear god the text is small on this game ... Lucky I got 20/20 vision .. otherwise Gamepad play would be impossible!
