Cannot wait for this 10 out of 10....holy ****!

I honestly thought this game would suffer in the atmosphere dept comapred to bioshock 1.

Still glad to see the positive reviews!!
I agree with the Bioshock thoughts. It was artistically stunning but the game was just ok imo. This just looks utterly fantastic though for me. I am pretty close to buying it soon and I almost never buy new release current gen games.

I swore I'd never bother with another Western console game again after the hyperbole bum-train that was Skyrim... Please, someone convince me not to buy this!!1

Had an hour on this last night, PC version. First impressions where: Woah, then Eh?, then Woah.

The first Woah was just seeing and hearing the game. It starts off pretty similiarly to how Bioshock does, it's dark and wet and feels very familiar. The wet surfaces were shining, the characters where talking together, about me, subtly letting me know what to do without making me feel stupid, I'm looking at you Ni No Kuni. The sound design is epic, works great on my surround sound headphones, better than most games anyway.

The Eh? Was some questionable game design which can mostly be remedied with a bit of tweaking. F is not the Use key Bioshock, E is the use key. Toggling the sights is another issue, I would of atleast liked it to be an option not forced on me, and by default middle mouse is to toggle sights, when it should probably be right mouse button like every other game that's had it. That left the plasmid/powers for middle mouse. The kids looked odd, disproportioned. Some of the NPCs stare at nothing, no eye movement or any head nod, while others turn and say goodmorning. There was a bit with 3 ladies at a table, all 3 had the same head and face. Also there is no option for multiple saves ffs, even my 3DS games have this. Now my brother who wanted to play has to wait til I finish the game or we decide to backup/reload each of our saves every time we switch who's playing.

Moving on, the combat eventually starts and it's fast and furious. Some interesting tweaks like the clothing, the one I got from Industrial Revolution makes me run 3x the speed when I eat an apple or something, for 3 secs. I saw a enemy turret, couldn't take over it with the possesion power as I run out of salt (?) so I ate a chocolate off the nearest table and dashed past the turret before it could lockon to me, Hah! They've added a Halo shield. Dunno what to think about that one.

Does it support the 360 controller with proper onscreen key icons?

                Indeed it does
The lack of multiple saves is what annoys me when playing this but apart from that it's a fun game if a little slow in the beginning.

10/10 on Eurogamer, I see. Wonder if this is on-the-level this time, or whether they'll come back a few weeks later with a lengthy essay half-justifying (while also admitting to) over-scoring, as they did on the original Bioshock. (I think I despise Eurogamer these days...)

Why all the bioshock hate? It's the one true great game is generation had, and everything pales in comparison, possibly only to be beaten by infinite.

^ Sorry, Mr. B, but that's crap. It had a great setting and decent voice acting and a fraudulently over-hyped (by Levine) 'moral' axis. As a game it was alright.

I think the original Bioshock was terrible. The FPS gameplay was sub par, the plasmids didn't outperform the wrench and the story jumped the shark from when you met Ryan. Hacking became a chore and fetching for people going mad anyway (regular splicer skins with gold lines) got silly. Moral aspect didn't work; didn't matter what you did with the Sisters. Endings were dog **** anyway.

I 1000/1000'd it, but for me its about the most over rated game ever. Much worse than GTA IV.

This is why I'm not certain on Infinite yet, I fear to be burnt again although I hear good things.

Bioshock was excellent, just a bit too long.

This game is incredible so far, they've done such a great job setting up the story that i had to force myself to stop playing.

The skyhook maybe the best thing ever.

Ooh, a Bioshock backlash. I think it was pretty awesome. Was the game as good as its setting? No, I don't think so but I could just as easily rephrase that as - its strongest asset is its setting. Doesn't make the rest bad. I thought it was a great FPS. I think my only issue with Bioshock is that it didn't truly commit to being a FPS (wanted to be an adventure game) and yet a FPS was exactly what it was. In that regard, I found the sequel to be more sure of itself by embracing the action.
