Would a second playthrough start me off with the camera, weapons, hearts and sea charts from my original game save?

So far I've played without using a guide or help and I've got to the Triforce shards part (hitting a brick wall with that so may end up cheating) but now I know about the colour camera/figures I may just restart to 100% everything in one go... Or harvest Miiverse bottles hoping they contain boss pictures.

You have to play it more than once. There's no way around it.
      Kept you waiting, huh?

So it's a waste of time continuing with this save then?

I'm a bit stuck with trying to collect all of the heart pieces.

My understanding is that Treasure Chart #38 can be won at the auction on Windfall Island at night and leads you to a heart piece. However, I appear to have won Treasure Chart #18 which just gives me some rupees. Are both charts available from the same auction?

I'm playing the GameCube version by the way, but it should be the same.

Just completed the game for the first time ever, GameCube version that is. Excellent stuff, one of the most charming games I've ever played. I'm a new convert to the 'toon Link' style, and I now totally get it. It's been a long time since I've been so sucked into a game.

I do have some minor complaints. The game did drag on a fair bit towards the end. I don't want to make too much out of the relatively small amount of dungeons, but the latter third of the game did feel artificially extended by what are essentially glorified fetch quests (Triforce Charts, Triforce Shards, getting enough rupees to actually do that portion of the game, etc). The world is sizeable, but many of the islands can be cynically be described as filler. I didn't really feel the same thrill from discovering a new island that I did in, say, Skies of Arcadia (which is the closest parallel that I can think of). The thrill of discovering a new island was somewhat dampened by the fact that you knew that it was almost certainly going to be unimportant, maybe housing an upgrade at best,

Still, none of this tarnishes what is an excellent game, which remains excellent today.

It's still the best Zelda, I don't regret buying another wii u to play it

Got this with my Wii U and have been playing a bit. Confession: I'm not the biggest Wind Waker fan. Loved how it looked back in the day but found the sailing a chore and there just didn't seem to be much to explore compared with previous ones.

Now, well, this version looks absolutely beautiful. But the game is already revealing little annoyances that take me right back. Forsaken Fortress rats revealing me - that was annoying. Now I'm in the 2nd dungeon and there is a bit where you just have to bring a ball from one end of the room to the next. It's very simple but the windy things seem pretty random, the ball vanishes after a while and if you place it down on the platform (which you have to) while facing the wrong way you'll shift backwards and off the platform. Even things like going up ladders take a couple of tries to aim correctly. Small tiny things that just get in the way of what should be a lovely experience.

Was loving this until I got to a puzzle that requires you to move crates into position to create a bridge, then carry a lighted stick across. Sounds simple, until you realise the boxes never form a decent enough bridge for link to get across without auto jumping into the water, thus extinguishing the torch. After the 20th try I almost smashed the game pad.

Need to get back into this. Also don't forget the quick sail dog thang, makes sailing a massive pleasure compared to the original release.

The Wii U version looks absolutely wonderful, almost like a painting in some places. It was the HD upgrade that finally made me finish the game after 3 attempts and I'm glad that I did. Playing Twilight Princess afterwards really made me miss how great The Wind Waker was. While a good game the dourness of the world in TP really dampened the experience compared to the beautiful blue sky gaming I got in WW.

Better than Ocarina? Possibly, but I haven't played Majora's Mask yet...

I played this through towards the end of last year and really enjoyed it. It gets a little slow in places but it's a wonderful journey, and feels like a real adventure. I honestly don't remember having problems climbing ladders etc, but the controls can be a little finicky at times.

I love the world too. It's just so cool!

Is it possible to make our own notes on the charts?

Finished this, which is much further than I got in the GC version. Looks absolutely gorgeous but it is way down on my list of top Zeldas. Too much boating, too much emptiness and lots of little frustrations. Not sure any of the WiiU motion controls helped either. Still, it gave us toon Link which visually is one of my all time favourite Links and that led to the lovely looking Minish Cap.
