Grinding Vanguard ROC will get you good stuff eventually. 2 times I got an exotic weapon after about 10 strikes, Last Word and Truth. During this one of my pals got Hard Light and another one had Hawkmoon the day earlier. I also got about 20-30 blue engrams and about 3 purple per 10 strikes or so. Cryptarch also levels up, and he could give legendary engrams though he never does to me while it was supposed to be buffed somewhat.

Tuesdays you can grind the Crota's End chest up to 3 times. I've got Gjallarhorn from it (a week or 2 after my first Gjallarhorn, but this one is 331) and one of my friend Dragon's Breath and Gjallarhorn after 2 tries.

If you've sunk 15 days into it already like some people have then probably. But for causals like myself there is always something to do every day, bounties, pvp, daily strike, plus the public events have to be one of my favorite pieces of game design in years, really brings out the we must smoosh the common cause in people.

Ive also noticed given the social nature of the game, all my concerns and wtf is going on with the story have gone out the window, as everyone just makes their own anyway.

Its got to be the best, worst, most average, fun game in a decade

haha so true. The other night me and a friend, both at level 30, spent about 4 hours learning how to 2 man Crota's End. We got all the way up to Crota! There's always stuff to do and despite how often Destiny drops the ball - it's the only game I have any interest in playing. If there were other options that did the same thing it might be different, but currently Destiny is the only fpsmmo (well, kinda mmo) going and it gets many of the basics so right.

3 vs. 3 skirmish is epic with decent teams!

Same as getting all monsters in Pokemon, or the best gear in MonHun and Diablo. These games trigger a certain flaw in humans, a desire to collect rare loot for reasons idk.

But if you are going to think about WHAT you're doing in this game, then it all falls apart. Run down to kill 3 Hive, run back, turn around and kill 3 hive. repeat. Every bounty is so ridiculous when I think of it. And its required if you want to level up your weapons. Because you know, actually using them does not level them much at all.

man destinyteamfinder has turned into a mire since the expansion, ugh.

Would be cool if we could get a dedicated forum team setup, probably more than enough players for multiple teams.

I'm still interested to hear what other game has this level of FPS combat in terms of it's co-op raids. If I can play another game that has anything remotely approaching Destiny's cooperative raids in an FPS style, I'd love to know about it.

If you dig deep enough, you could say that about everything. This game is full of holes, and it's interesting to observe the ways in which people begrudgingly take to it. I think it's a brave experiment into something new, very much spoilt by Activision.

I just don't think the rewards are anywhere near good enough. Games seem afraid to offer a real challenge. How about completely inaccessible areas until you have found a certain item? Stuff like that.

Destiny just feels like a very small game disguised as a very big one.

I remember one of the pre-release videos where the devs showed a Guardian looking into the distance and he said something like you'll be able to go anywhere you can see. That didn't make it then.

Haven't bungie said that on every game since halo CE in their press releases? Masters of hype and yarn spinning before a release. I appreciate you have to show a game to a certain extent before release, but if you blatantly know a feature won't be there or is just bull, best to keep your mouth shut.

On the plus side the beta gave a good indication of the game, and was free, so if you didn't like it then no worries, unlike in the past with stuff like halo2.

Was that a triple headshot or was it the grenade that got the other two?
