I did the offer myself yesterday. Picked up 4 skanky PS2 games at cash convertors for the total of ?9 and got Gran Turismo 4 for them plus 99p, nice!

Well, to be honest they will still sell, and they will make their profit, so they arent exactly getting scanned

but wouldnt they be making more from selling gt4 or mgs3 by itself. its not like noone wants thee games as theyve just been released.

whereas the preowned copies will probably be scratched up, with pages missing from the manual and the Game marker pen all over the case, manual and CD!!! not that many people are going to want a copy of F1 2001 for a tenner or so are they?

The thing is, Game are buying in these games for less than ?20 each. However, let's assume that they're paying ?20 each. Hence to break even they'll need to sell the 4 games for a fiver each. Whilst they'll receive a lot of crap pretty much everything will sell for at least ?5 with most selling for more. Hence, Game win.

I'm not sure if half the dross traded in will sell to be honest. The GAMEs round here seem to have ever increasing reserves of preowned titles that won't shift.

Thing is, only a small proportion of people will be like us and seek out the cheapest of the cheap games to exploit the deal, you'll get average joes trading in four high value new games. Unless you're trading in stuff you picked up for under a fiver, it's a pretty raw deal.

Another term (in the midlands at least) is that they must scan in. I tried trading Strikers 1945 I and II as one of my games but it wudn't scan in coz it wasn't on the system (as they don't sell it new I don't think) so had to trade psyvariar in instead. (that was when I traded a few for GTA SA)

So what the latest hot PS2 games (with 60hz) or XBOX games as I got GT4 for PS2 and Fight Night Round 2 for XBOX, Resident Evil 4 for Gamecube recently and what XBOX games is worth getting these days new from game.

I am talking about titles that is released this month.

Just used the offer in GAME to get GT4. Only had 3 games to trade so I bought a Pre-owned game from them for 7.97 then used it right away to trade in. The boy was brilliant, he actually picked out the cheapest one, scanned it then put it back in the bargain bin cause I was trading it... nice!! GT4 for the measly price of ?8.96... superb!!

Just need to get a wee desk now to get my Logitech wheel hooked up to hehe!!

gamestation are matching this deal without the 99p thing, they are aslo letting you choose whatever game you want so worth going in if there is any games you fancy might not be all stores though.

There also matching the ds deal but giveing you 60 quid for you old gba sp and 3 games, i traded some pretty naff gba sp games in most of them launch titles like tony hawks or things id picked up for a few quid so there not fussy about what they take to... Bonus

you can get a ds and any game for ?110 loveing the ds its a tidy bit of kit and while i was a bit sorry to see my trust old sp go it was getting a bit tired as it was covered in scratches all over the case due to two years of being slung in my bag.
