the two towers and the return of the king
they have good action and stuff but its just orc after orc after orc after orc after orc after orc after orc. the are the difinitive hack and slash games

the voice acting in shenmue 2 ****s it up a bit. Still a brilliant game though.
I only recently discovered the series and already is one of my favourite games of all time.

You see, that would be the beauty of the wonderfully subtitled DC version. The avoidance of naffed up and poorly acted US cheese fluff.

Shenmue II w/ Japanese dub was a revelation, but you I have to say that the first Shenmue is the video game equivilent of a B-movie classic. So many classic lines and hilarious overacting.

I know. The English version of Shenmue had it all.

                            Comedy. Melodrama. Cheese.

The comedic element present in the series was much more evident, albeit unintentionally, yet that meloncholy which rings throughout Shenmue was still thankfully present in certain parts.

Pip-squeak, 'I'm a thirty-year old Woman putting on girl's voice' Megumi being one of the teeth gnashing highlights though for the ear-plug reach.

Actually, I'm hungry for a bit of Shenmue because it's been well over a year since I've approached either title in the series. I may have to go on a long escapism trip and play both games back to back, especially as I take a step away whilst waiting for the insane Q4 period coming up to click in gear.

That's the great thing about Shenmue - It so easily pulls you in and absorbs you if you're willing to buy into its world.

Was Megumi that little kid who found the kitten at the beginning of Shenmue 1? If it is, her voice was god awful, and completely turned me off from even playing the game past the first 20 minutes. Ryo's voice is also not very good, and I think the voice acting in general was horrid in that game.

When it comes to voices, either do it good, or not at all. They should be hiring outside reviewers to listen to this stuff before they finalize them. Change them if people find them bad.

You know they took out some extra dungeons in the game due to "time restrictions"
