I like the look of that track design, too! With the tight turns and all, hopefully there'll be more situations that call for driving skillz than in Double Dash.

The newest video for Mario Kart DS simply looks fantastic. I don't mind that some of the tracks are purely remakes of old tracks because most of them just were awesome. November cannot come fast enough.

With the US release a month away, who's getting their copy from there and who's waiting for the UK release?

I'm tempted to put a pre-order on a US one but I'm concerned over region difficulties with the games online modes?

        Anyone know more about this?

Well you may as well go for a UK release as we are actually getting it before the US (for once). I've been into my local EB Games and they've definately got it down for the 25th November. Best sticking a pre-order in on Amazon or something.

In regards to your question about the online modes, I don't think anyone knows yet for certain. But stick with the UK one and you should have no worries.

          So excited!
To be honest, I'm finding it slightly worrying that there hasn't been a huge advertising campain to talk this up. It's a huge, huge deal for DS owners, and indeed for the gaming community as a whole. Who'd have thought years ago that you could be sitting down virtually anywhere, whip out your handheld (ooh err) and play against people wirelessly from all over the world?

EDIT: Looks like it's the 25th November now, according to an official article released yesterday: http://www.nintendo-europe.com/NOE/e...HlFbBe_MrmNEJe

I'll buy either the US or JP version. I HATE, HATE the Euro DS boxes. They are cheap, nasty things with bland spines.

Don't have broadband so it's not like I'll be missing out on online play, either.
Actually, I'm no expert on such matters but surely it won't matter what region you've got as far as online modes go? One of the reasons for online play is to go against people in countries that may be different regions to yours. Maybe.

UK version for me - can't wait to take this puppy online; I figure the majority of peeps I know who'll have the game will buy the domestic release.

Thats not true though is it?

AFAIK the US version is coming out Nov 11th with the Euro release 2 weeks after?

Hmmm, no I think they've pushed them all back a couple of weeks now. I read somewhere that the EU is getting Mario Kart first and Japan is getting Animal Crossing first. Appealing to their target markets etc etc. Who knows, I just want the bloody thing now

Seeing as though the Euro release was put back to Nov 25, I'll be getting the US version. I'll just use Tronix and Fed-ex shipping, should be here in 3 days so that'll still be a bit ahead of Europe. Don't think there'll be too many problems online though as you can race anyone worldwide. Can't wait to get started.

I highly suspect I'll be in the US when it releases there... bargain! Probably won't have time to play it much though!

If they do include it then I might be able to convince some of my family/friends to pick up a DS, as that is really the only battle mode map we play. Probably also why we don't play DD as much, because IMO the battle mode maps aren't as good. They did have some good ideas in DD though, I particularly liked the shine thief and bob-omb blast modes.

Basically I think a mixture of the best ingredients from each of the games would be ace. MK64 style battle mode(with all the maps included) with the optional modes from DD would be ace. IMO Shine Thief would work really well on Block Fort. Slap a comprehensive online mode into the mix and I'd buy it in a heartbeat.
BLOCK FORT is in Mario Kart DS!!!!!!!!!!

although it looks a little bit ugly

The news regarding being able to design your own sigs for your karts sounds really really cool.

The new vids popping up seem to show a lot more of the games interface. There appears to be lots of options.

The game is going to be sooo massive.

That's great news. I haven't got time to see the movies but I take it that it's proper block fort and not a watered down version like block city right? Multi-tiered level and all?
