Original Xbox Games Playable on Xbox 360

How does the box indicate widescreen or not? I have both the boxes for DoA3 and Ninja Gaiden here and it doesn't say one way or another as far as I can see, its not listed in the supported features bit on the back thats for sure.

They changed the layout for the features on xbox games at some point, DOA3 was definately before this time dunno about ninja Gaiden.

That stuffs my theory up.

They do update older games aswell as adding new games to the list when they release an update, so maybe it will work properly at some point.

So far for me:

Forza Motorsport - Plays well in widescreen and 720P, best game so far for me.

Rainbow Six3: Black Arrow - Locked to 4:3 ratio in 720P but plays fine and looks good

Ghost Recon2: SS - Wouldnt boot unless I was signed out of XBL, then runs same as R6:BA locked to 4:3

Pro Evo 5 - Locked 4:3 but very crisp. Not widescreen on xbox anyway so no biggie.

Halo2 - Looks great, runs widescreen.

Sniper Elite - Same.

SF certainly doesn't work. I'm not sure about Guilty Gear.

Neither work.

They're not on the compatability list, and I've put them in the 360 for good measure, no dice with either of them.

Street Fighter Aniversary really pissed me off because the first time I tried it it said I needed to download a patch, it then appeared to be downloading something. Then, the machine turned off so I turned it back on and I got the this game doesn't work message.

PAL Black Arrow doesn't like 720p at all. Totally screwed. 480p ok though.

Pro Evo 5 - Locked 4:3 but very crisp. Not widescreen on xbox anyway so no biggie.

tried this via rgb scart and it was no longer locked at 4:3 (i could stretch the screen anyways)

Genma Onimusha Has Issues with the backgrounds, flickering lines, never bothered playing the xbox version before so do not know if this happened on xbox 1

the only game that i could try was ninja gaiden black (my ninja gaiden is us).

it was 60fps but would slow down where it got a bit graphically-intensive, but it's still nice, and tbh i'm used to emulation - been using emus since ESNES way back when (heck, my dad's the one who got esnes in the first place and showed me!)

yeah that's because the message actually says there may be an update and that the game may be part of that update. it did it for me when i tried 007 AUF on the 1.0 emulator. updated and it still didn't work but only because it's not emulated yet. it gets you hyped up though!

Yeh probably because RGB Scart supports other resolutions other than 720P which is widescreen only but as the game was 4:3 on Xbox they've just stuck black bars down the side.

Couldn't find this anywhere else, so hope I'm not asking the same question again...

Can you play US region-free original xbox games on a PAL console? Just wondering if I'll be able to get US Halo 2 online with it later tonight when I finally pick up my console.
