Original Xbox Games Playable on Xbox 360

Halo doesn't support 60Hz, nor does Doom 3 as another example, and the current VGA cables don't support 50Hz, so if you try playing Xbox titles that don't support 60hz with VGA, they will not work.

And if like Halo 2 the game does a live update, it won't work, because the live updater works at 50Hz. I've not been able to play any of my xbox games on my 360.

And no I can't (due to my own set up) simply plug my 360 into a SD display to get past this, and I shouldn't have to.

I never knew the Xbox Live Updater was 50Hz and now I do I'm even less likely to use VGA than when I knew about the games.

I'll stick with component for now and am glad I got the YPbPr Power Box.

No date has been given for updates, nor any schedule for updates. The last thing people heard was that the emulation team were being given a long holiday, which hopefully they are back from now.

The demo-disc evidence, and constant queries to MS about various games should mean that the next update should add a fair amount of games to the pile. MS have said they will do an update when they have a large amount of stuff to update it with, not just 1 or 2 games (hopefully this means around 30-50 new titles and bug-fixes for stuff like Ninja Gaiden).

My guess - April sometime.

Same happened to me and then something odd.....

When it rebooted, my profile was signed in, but when I loaded CoD2 it wasn't, so I clicked the guide button to load profile and my Live profile was greyed out and only offline profiles were accessible. I went back to the dash and my Live profile was signed in, loaded CoD2 again and the same problem. I shut it down for a minute, then restarted and all was fine.

I bought another copy of SSX3 purely to play on the 360 (my old copy went walkies when I was on holiday, thanks housemates!)... only to find that the emulation is completely broken implementation. I couldn't believe how shoddy it was.

- it forced black borders down the sides of the screen, yet still appeared to be running in widescreen (everything was squished).
- Sound was jud-jud-juddering-ing-ing-ing frequently
- framerate would grind to a crawl at times

Pretty poor all things considered. I too expected the list of games to be ones that played almost perfectly on the 360. They had better fix games like this and NGB on their next update, whenever that might be (E3 time, for press kudos? -_-)
