Original Xbox Games Playable on Xbox 360

Quick question: I have a Japanese Xbox 360. If I get the Japanese version of Winning Eleven 9 will it be able to use the update? Or are the updates region specifc? Cheers to anyone who can shed some light.

Anyone else having problems getting these things to update? It automatically logs me out of Live whenever I try to get the updates, then logs me back in again after it's told me there's been a problem!

If often does that to me with any kind of update over Live! For me though, what you describe happens the first time, then I go to get the update again and it works without a prob. Quite weird!

Well, I was just trying there after reading that NG was supposed to have been sorted, and it wasn't having any of it. (Apologies to anyone on my friend list that saw me log off and on about twenty times...I changed it to "appear offline" so it wouldn't bother people, but it wouldn't do that for me either. )

Ah well, I'll try again later. Shame NG hasn't actually been sorted after all!

Same happens for me, fails the first time but is quite happy the second time.

The update is for the US version of Winning Eleven.

I've had problems with game updates, they will not install until the title/introduction sequence has finished.

I've noticed this too and I think that when it signs you out of Live, for whatever reason, and then back in again it resets to showing you online.

Ninja Gaiden finally runs without the framerate problems...

Too bad that there is no sound! >_>

Only in PAL version though, a new update will come soon for us hopefully.

Thanks, thought that would be the case but I thought I may as well check just to be safe I'll have to hope that MS Japan come out with an update for the Japanese version soon! Probably be quicker to wait for the proper 360 version of WE10

Fable runs in 4.3 mode and Ninja Gaiden and Half Life won't work with the VGA cable (only 50 Hz) . Back to the drawing board M$

The team have spent their time rebuilding the emulator core so that the future udates can be quicker and have less problems. The reason there are only three games is becuase when gamers (In the US) were asked what games they would like to be most compatible these are the three games that were highest on this list that were possible to release for this month. They also had to focus on ensuring that games already on the list remained compatible becuase people would not understand why they are compatible one month and not the next. The next update is due for the end of April and will include a selection of games in the tens (more than 10 less than 100).

This sounds really promising really. I know theres been bags of problems with people not being able to download the emus and sound issues, but considering they've managed to get ANYTHING working after so many people said it couldn't be done when they changed to ATI, its a nice bonus. 12 months from now, hopefully backwards compatibility won't be an issue, and we'll have 100% of titles emulated to 100% capability
