I would PAY for a Live download to get both Shenmue II and Outrun2 in proper 720p like Halo1/2.

I reckon we'll be lucky to see it even in 480p though =(

I just tried the Xbox Classics version of GTA:SA on my 360 and it doesn't work. Surely it must be minimal effort to get it working as the original release works, MS get off your asses.

Is it the game minus the hot coffee stuff that was hidden away?

Its probably one of those things that they aren't even aware of

Yes, but surely the vast majority(more than 99.9%) of the game code is identical. It's a mere formality to certify the classics version and the triple pack version to work on the 360

i wish they would get their act together in general with the Bc stuff, they really have been a letdown so far. I'm still hoping that an update with the new prince of persia game will appear. It came out after the 360 and Ubisoft aren't making a 360 version

There's a few more like this, such as the SegaGT on the doublt-pack with JSRF. It loads the menu, when when you try to load SegaGT specifically, no-go.

It likely checks the disc title or something similar.

yeah it probably checks the xbe its loading, so GTA san andreas might be called gtaa for the standard one, but Gta:SA 1.2 for the newer version.

doesn't explain why it'd load the double pack menu, then not load the game though for sega GT

i've been at a friends house today and tried some other games on my 360 using his JvC plasma to test it, the majority of the games do actually look really nice.

I tried the incredible hulk, batman begins, call of duty and rocky legends, they all looked silky smooth even in 480p, i'm more impressed than I was

It's quite funny that my favourite games such as: Outrun2, Otogi 1&2, Panzer Dragoon, aren't emulated yet!

These games are fantastic, and proper 720P emulation would be awesome. Sadly the mass market aren't very fond of the games I cherish!

Peter Moore has said the intention is to emulate *all* original Xbox games. How long that will take we don't know, but at least they're not stopping yet.

I have a feeling they're not going to be very easy to emulate either. It'll be interesting to see how many Japanese developed games are emulated for the 360 - I don't think it'll be too many.

They might be waiting to launch the next set along with the proper 2nd batch of consoles or games or something

Maybe they'll get into the swing of doing monthly updates. The last update was the 9th of Dec, might be another one on next monday if we get lucky.

On Major Nelson's podcast he had an interview with a guy on the backwards compat team recently. He said they were all taking a lenghty break after having worked so hard to get the initial batch of games working.

So no updates for a little while yet.

                                Back to work

                                Seriously though, that makes sense.
