Do any games other than Halo 1 & 2 run in 720p yet?

Well i'm only going by this update, the american list was updated on the 8th of December, and I tried Splinter Cell 3 - it didn't work.

I tried splinter cell 3 last night (the 10th) and it worked!.... (even though the actual list hasn't been updated on the UK page)

So thats the basis of my 2 day rule.

Since I can't be bothered flicking through 11 pages to see if its been answered, I'll ask here.....

Is it normal for original xbox games running on an HD setup to play in the most pathetic screen format ever? This is even worse than playing them on a crt screen. Widescreen on the original xbox console = no problem. Widescreen on the 360 = Mommy, where are my pants?

In other words, the 360 basically has no ****ing idea how to display original xbox games properly (for me at least)

Yes. The only game for me that runs in widescreen so far is Chaos Theory. The rest are square. Halo 2 *was* widescreen, but they've taken it away while they fix it. They might have fixed it already.

And whats the ****ing idea with having Barbie's Horse **** on that list? Did the drones at Microsoft SERIOUSLY take time out of their schedules to ensure that that was one of the first xbox titles to work on the new system? Or did some big high up executive decide that his 4 year old troglodyte daughter needed something to play on daddy's new toy?

No - it just means that the code in place for the Xbox1 emulation happens to cope with that title because it doesn't do anything complex.

A 4:3 game is designed to play in 4:3 so when its upscaled to 720P a widescreen format, they fill in the excess screen with black, to maintain the original games screen size.

Perhaps, but on the other end of the spectrum you have games like dead or alive and ninja gaiden on the list, 2 of the system's most resource intensive titles. If popularity of the titles is an issue as to why they are there and extra effort was taken to ensure they are compatible, that doesn't explain wtf Barbie is doing there. I mean, how many 4 year old girls do you know that play Barbie's Horse adventure (which genious thought that an adult orientated console would be a good platform for a barbie game?)

                      Yeah, they've fixed the update.

it's most probable that barbie's horsie thingy uses the same or a similar engine to another game that is also on the list. hence, the game happens to run properly or close to properly on the 360. it could've been that it required a bit of tweaking, but at least it's one more game to add to the list. claiming 100 working games sounds better than claiming 99 working games after all

How come Barbie is on the List but Largo isn't.

                              It is an outrage

Barbie is a very nice game actually. I have totally rinced the game in a typically hardcore way , so maybe you would like it now??
