I use VGA on mine, it looks alot sharper to my eyes. Once I had component set up correctly too I couldn't see the difference in colour between VGA and component.

360 VGA 'colours washed' Solution

I noticed a huge jump in quality when I switched from VGA, which always looked washed out and flat on my HDTV or monitor, to component, which just pops with excellent colour and contrast. Both look equally sharp to me.
Also a factor for me is that my TV (42WLT66) only supports a max of 1280x720 through VGA, but I can use the full panel resolution (1920x1080) through component.

Lost Planet tears on the title screen WTF
and Dead Rising will tear now and then.
Everything is else fine, just those 2 games go weird.

There's not much between them, other than some overscan on component vs none with VGA.
I use VGA for my Mac, and have calibrated the colours on the Mac.

VGA on the 360 looks good but it's a down to your screen as well, on my old 26" Sammy from 2005 everything looked washed out and the screen looked like it had a white filter over it. On my new N73 32" Sammy it looks far better than before, that's mainly down to the fact that you get more option for changing the display settings on the newer model when using VGA.

I have my LG26" through VGA. Thing is, my TV lets me choose between two options: PC and DTV. If I choose PC it shows that the TV is outputting 1280*720 and the colours are all washed out. Switch it to DTV though and the TV then says it's outputting at 720p and the colours are much, much brighter. I do not get the option to switch from PC to DTV at any other resolution. Not sure what's going on, but it's something in my TV that is doing something to the colours to make it look better.

VT3 through VGA set to 1080p on my W2000 is stunning.
