    Perfect Dark Zero.

There's just too much wrong with this game to go into the specifics, so I'll just mention that it feels nothing like the n64 original. I think its trying to be too much like Halo for its own good (which by the way, I guess should also belong here because I found both Halo games just too boring to play after an hour or two), and just generally lacks that certain Rare touch, which I haven't seen since the n64 days. The game is pretty, but I think I preferred the style of the original perfect dark more... this looks to silly to be taken seriously. I've almost completely lost faith in Rare... even though during the n64 era I was one of their biggest supporters when they actually made great games.

And why are the voices americanised?

I have far too many to mention.

For some reason I get near the end of a game and put it onto 'retirement' without actually completing it. Very strange.

people stopped playing metroid prime halfway?

jeez... don't think i can top that

did quit halfway through REmake.... about a year later finished it, now my second favourite cube game

also kind of gave up on RE0, but i like it much more than RE4 (also kind of halfway through ) so im definitely going to come back for it

and of course killer7.... third chapter, utterly bored, sold
...i know the game is definitely special, but it just bored the crap out of me

Another Metroid Prime here. Had it for years, only half way through. Scanning does my nut in.

the most recent games that i couldnt really be bothered completing:

            Dead or alive 4
Doesnt play like dead or alive anymore - its just a 'who can hit the buttons fastest' game now and the computer opponents are just plain fecking annoying

completed it twice, 1 was a perfect and i havent went back to it

            Perfect dark zero
got the the level that starts with the car park and just couldnt be bothered anymore - not even near the class of the N64 version, awful

            Full Auto
only played it for 15 minutes - unsure why as it seemed okay

            Ridge racer 6
only raced 1 course and i havent touched it since

            Meteos
Had it since its US launch and i've played it once and thought it was teh poo

                nah i love capcom!

their games just aren't exactly pick-up-and-play friendly

will definitely give killer7 another shot, only because there's a slight chance it could turn out to be the majora's mask of this gen

Psychonauts - got about two thirds into it, bought Shadow of the Colossus, and have since then completely forgotten about it. Not too keen on playing it again either, although that might be associated with the fact that in order for me to do so, I have to take out the old Xbox again.

Ridge Racer 6 - Absolutely loved the PSP version, but haven't played this one more than a couple of hours. Something about it just didn't feel right I guess, which was kind of a disappointment.

Metroid Fusion - Well, not exactly guilty of not playing it enough, it's just that I got to the end, and just forgot about it. Still haven't completed it.

Alien Hominid - One of my all-time favorite side-scrollers (I even own one of the Limited Eurogamer signed editions!), and I'm still stuck at the last part of Soviet Russia. ****ing snowmobile.

Kirby's Magical Paintbrush - Well, not exactly shelfed yet, but I'm stuck at one of the stupid underwater sections, and I can't be bothered to pick it up again.

Mario Kart DS - Unlike alot other DS owners, I never played the N64 much, and alas, don't really have that special connection to it. To be honest, I find it too random and not that much fun.

Advance Wars DS - Meeeh ... mission mode ... use brain ...

Gregory Horror Show - Heard good things about it. Picked it up for about a tenner. Played for half an hour. Never ever touched again.

****, that list got alot longer than it was supposed to get. Oh well, I'm a bad gamer.

I'd kind of retired Super Mario World until recently. I say 'kind of', because I'd beaten the normal game but hadn't beaten all the Special stages after Star Road. Did this recently -- about time too! Only took me about 15 years...

I've retired every Legend of Zelda game I've ever played, once I've finished them. Not because I don't like them -- quite the opposite. Partially because of the nostalgia of having played the series back from the Famicom days, and partially because of the great stories in each one, I find that once I've been "told the story", there is little reason to return. This was particularly true for Wind Waker, with its rather poignant ending set to Koji Kondo's amazing music. The prospect of playing through in my pyjamas just to listen to some Hylian and collect some figurines paled in comparison to what I'd just experienced on the first playthrough, so I've never bothered.

Main one recently would be Shadow of the Colossus. I got to to the 11th colossus around the time the game was released in the US and then basically stopped playing games altogether for quite a long period. Only recently just got back into playing them again, so I hope to get cracking on it and finish it off.

The other one would be Atelier Iris: Eternal Mana. Very fun little RPG and one of the few that I put alot of time into. Got near to the end, from looking at some walkthroughs I've basically got to travel to one more place and finish off the last boss. Again seemed to stop playing it due to lack of time more than anything. I'll try and have it finished it before the sequel(or should that be prequel) comes out.

Phoenix Wright also comes to mind. Although to be fair I've finished off the main story of the game, I've just got the bonus DS exclusive case to play through, which I had just started, a couple of months back.

Final Fantasy 7 - Just never got far enough into it, never really got hooked, and not to mention the pc version would crash sometimes and could u be arsed doing that bit all over aagin? no. Also, oh boy do i hate random battles. I enjoyed FF5 and 6, but the same thing happened in them.

Chrono Trigger - realyl enjoyed this, but i got stuck and just never got back around to it

Castlevania - Right, i loved Super castlevania 4, so i thought id like SOTN, right? ****ING WRONG! i loved metroid prime so i thought ill go back and play super metroid. **** me is that not as good as i thought it would, all that mindless jumping up and down verticle corridors, picking a door at random and see where u go. NOT FUN. imagine my horror when i found out castlevania was now exclusivley that way in its 2d iterations, im sorry but pissing about in SOTN, never finding any health even though taking the wrong door leads u into some c*nt who cains u in 2 hits, is not fun. i still have the DS version to play that better be good.

Secret of Monkey Island Series - Just never played them

                            Perfect Dark Zero (360)

After finished Condemned on launch, went to this and it just seemed pants. Nothing about it seems good, the multiplayer seemed dull as dishwater, the game itself just seemed crap...tried 3 times before deciding to sell it...maybe I will regret it but I just find it dull.

                            Ridge Racer 6 (360)

Loved this game up to about 54% and it just got too hard in so much as I could DO the levels/races but it would take about 6-10 tries, baring in mind that there are only about 19 courses in the entire game (maybe not even that many) and half of them are reversed anyway, having to do a race 10 times is grating on me and I just can't bare to do it anymore. Probably will keep it but I don't see myself getting any further...I had a period where I was getting loads of achievements and moving on fairly quickly but now the game feels dead to me. Kept me busy before games like Ghost Recon, Fight Night and Oblivion came out.

Call me stupid but I just don't find a racing game where the basis of the latter levels is to block the opponents and basically disregard actually racing, JUST block the opponents all that fun to be honest, it's gets beyond frustrating and took all the fun out of it for me.

                            Tiger Woods (360)

Played this absolute loads when I got it, got pretty good but the game feels too small and quite frustrating, it's a game that suffers from seeing the loading screen far too much. Little "trials/challenges" you HAVE to do to be able to further your career that are about 3 minutes in real-time and then it loads again, you fail...try again, load...fail, try again...load! You seem to end up seeing the load screen more than playing the game.

                            PGR (360)

Same as above really, the game suffers from over-loading so to speak but at least with this game the on-screen visuals might warrant it. However, I just find having to see the load-screen that much for a tiny speed camera trial or a "get # kudos in X time" a bit too much. After getting an Aston Martin DB9 the novelty wore off completely. I also found that I'm unbelievably **** at it and just cannot get used to the cornering after playing Ridge 6 too much this was barely playable.

                            Shadow Of Collossus (PS2)

Don't know what happened here! Got to the last but one collossi and just never played it again! Again, might be that the novelty wore off because the game was so so good until that point, I just got a bit bored of exploring to find the next one but nothing happens along the way, no "fast-travel" option and it's just empty scenery...nicely done mind you!

Having said that, that was about the time I got my 360 and I haven't played on the PS2 since then actually!!

                            --

I imagine most people would say PGR is the one I should try again, but I have...I just can't get into it, it doesn't seem my type of racer!

How far did you get into it though? There are certain points in the game that the story hooks you in and never lets you go, and once you reach that point you'll probably play through it 15 times again!

                                that was sarcasm

since about 90% of the hits are breakable

or play against the computer and 100% are breakable

                                spoils the game
