I know. In reality, from my poin of view, i'm probably 2-3 weeks away at least with DVDBO. Ordered from Import Madness a couple of nights ago in an act of desperation but in all honesty, i'd be happy with one the first week in December or something like that.

Just fiind it really strange, and slightly annoying, that these places that have taken our pre-orders (and our deposits or full amounts) can't give us a straight answer as to when we might get our baby

Maybe they know their allocations but aren't keen to tell anyone. If VG+ tell the first fifty people that they're getting a console, and then something happens that means they only get 30 consoles, there'll be a lot of pissed off folk.

I seem to remember either their PSP or DS launch had such a problem, so I imagine they're just keen not to repeat it.

I'd say that if retailers are not keen to tell people, it's not because they are worried about pissing people off, it's because they know further shipments are coming soon after the initial batch. If they tell people now they won't be getting a console, there's a good chance those potential customers will try to find one elsewhere. If they don't keep us informed, come release date we're more likely to keep our pre-order with the original retailer and wait for the second shipment. It makes sense from a business point of view.

Yeah, fair point. From what i've been told, they'll be a second shipment before the end of November (well, so DVDBO say). I actually think that the people on this forum who are importing the US Wii, probably make up a big percentage of the overall importers, and as such, don't think there's too much cause for concern.

Think everyone will be sorted within a couple of weeks of launch IMO.

It didn't work with me - given my order couldn't be filled I cancelled. I'm waiting now to see what the situation is, and I'll order from whoever can provide me with a console.

I too can't believe my DVDBO order was cancelled even after ordering the second it went live. I've now give up getting a US one until whenever they are available and concentrating on getting a JAP one now for Koroinpa and Wario.

I guess my PAL one will arrive on Dec 8th anyways. I hope by the end of the year I'll have all three region Wii's on my shelf.

On another note not sure if it's been mentioned already but Movietyme are selling US Wii games much cheaper than VG+.

So what are people doing about component cables then? Anyone actually got one ordered for launch?

Gamestop will apparently be stocking them, but so far they're not on the Gamestop site.

Just got a response from NCS. They've said they're not taking pre-orders until they know their allocation and that won't be until launch.

They aren't worried at all... and neither am I. It seems to be pretty much certain that everyone is going to get whatever region they want before xmas.

As for component - I'll wait for a UK one.

I have mine ordered for the Japanese launch, from Play-Asia.

That's certainly the impression I get from friends in the States, including a friend of mine who is on very good terms with his local branch of Electronics Boutique. I've decide to have him ship me a Wii given how difficult it is to get a pre-order in online at the moment since many are waiting to know their precise allocations (which is fair enough. Saves potentially letting customers down).

I?ve budgeted for around $425 for the console, Zelda, Rayman and Monkeyball. Not sure of the cost of an s-video cable but I?ll be needing one of those too. I?ll get a second pad and nunchuck when they go on sale in the UK I think.

VG+ will be doing the Mad Catz ones, good stopgap until we can get official ones.

I doubt there will be any difference between the two. Component isn't anything special, it's not like one cable will have better internal components than the other.

The cable pricing is a bit of a rip-off tbh, considering it's just five leads instead of three. HD market though innit. :/

                            meh... RGB/VGA all the way.

There must be some difference between cables, that's why people pay more for decent cables. And heck, we've all had experience with crap Scart cables.

But our probably right about the Mad Catz cable being fine... I just know it'll be in the back of my mind until I get a proper Nintendo one.

Yeah i reckon so, my ma called to ask how many units i wanted. 1 will be enough, 2 is a bonus and i will gladly take 3.

My Ma dont come back till i do form India so i reckon im sorted for at least 2 US consoles. Plus i will do what i done with my extra 360 preorders last year and offer the spare unit at cost price, minus a game for my efforts.
