The level design is really fantastic, every building is has clearly been meticulously designed to be climbed up. Windows , ledges and stairs are all placed in such a way that you can't just scamper up the side of a building and get to the top, you actually have to look for a way to get there.
I can honestly say I never saw a building model duplicated in the demo.

It is very cool the way your abilities do actually improve between leveling up, it isn't just a sudden jump, your powers are increasing with every single orb you pick up.

I do think that they have failed slightly on the look they were going for, whilst it is lovely and colourful and crisp, I found that the comic book effect is almost too subtle. The line around the character is almost invisible and it was only when I got the camera really close upto a car that I could see the super shiny contrastyness that they had going on and had shown off in the screenshots.
This is by far one of the greatest multiplayer experiences that I have had a console yet, I really can't wait to play the full game. As DarkSteve said , playing this game singleplayer when you have a friends list and a Live account is even more stupid thatn sitting and playing Gears of War by yourself when you have a friends list and a gold account.

The full game actually allows you to join into other peoples games without needing an invite, it is truly a step up from Gears of War for it's co-op component.

It does a little but not very much (when you have about 20 cars stacked up you can feel the game run slightly slower but its not horrific), at the moment of detonation you can see it pause for a millisecond then just errupts which is a wicked touch .

Here's another we did (may take a sec to upload, (edit) its on now):

the way the truck rolls towards the camera at the end is class, we couldnt have scripted it better.

Are there just the three crime bosses to defeat in the demo?

There are 4, which are the 4 easiest from the full game

geldra, those vids are ACE!! I'm going right on to try that madness out tonight, I dont know why I didnt bother trying yet as I used to do it in GTA alot but the whole cars disappearing thing made it difficult!

Did you just chuck all 8 remote mines in the middle of the cars or various places or what?

About the conversations going just now, I feel this game could get slow later on is there aren't much things to do on the side, I know all the crazy jumping and strength things are ace fun right now but it might get old if there isn't much else in the game to keep active. You never know, it could be completely fantastic the whole time, just need to wait and see, I have nothing but really high hopes anyway so it better not disappoint!

And about co-op, me and my mate tried again for a good half hour last night with no luck, we both kept reseting the demo and the console various times, etc, but it just wouldnt work, is there any way to do it thats more likely than others to work? Or anything not to do?

I'm quite confident that there will be plenty to do, in the full game with the stats taking a vastly longer time to reach you aren't going to be able to be jumping around quite so crazily, so instead I'd imagine you will be more compelled to go munch down some of the gang members.

The thing that seemed to get the matchmaking to work is for one person to host, and the other person to seach for the same parameters. If they don't appear in the list , then if the person trying to join tries to host a game instead, then immediately goes back and searches again, as that seems to refresh the avaliable games.

Whose bright idea was it to not allow you to invite friends into the co-op games on the demo? It took me and a friend ten minutes to get into a game together (the best way is to get them into a private chat while you set up a game with some obscure settings and then they can find the game on the hopefully short list of matching games) which wasn't conducive to warming us up to the game.

Otherwise I had a good time. I'm not convinced that it's going to have a lot of longevity but as a blast with a friend it was...well...a blast. Assuming that was only a section of the city it must be bloody massive as well, and to push all that with a rock solid framerate and huge draw distance was very impressive.

I'll probably buy it if I can find it used, which I think will happen once the Halo beta starts.

I put like a zillion mines in the heap but i'm not sure it makes too much of a difference, you could probs get away with just one to trigger the explosion. The easiest way of amazzing cars is to play co-op and have one person hang around the stack and the other going to get cars, that way they dont disappear. Have fun!

Oh and with regards connecting try and make the set up parameters different to just "any" if you get me (for instance: set it to Explosive, My Language, Los Meurtos, Talkative) and get your friend to search for the same thing, it should work after a little while.

Thats what I done every time and it just NEVER worked at all! Its so annoying!

What about alternating between being the host and trying to join? I had a few annoying attempts to join a friend this afternoon that were resolved by doing that?

First night wouldn't work at all, second night it worked every time - My hint though it may be worth naught is that you both boot the game at the same time by using private chat at the dashboard ! Possibly you both get chucked into the same server ???

Bit late to the party on this one, just downloaded the rascal today and it's got me thinking, 'Bring back Headhunter'.
                              That is all.

DOne the whole try to host and try to join thing and also done the private chat thing at the same time last night and it just wouldn't work. Its not fair since everyone else can seem to manage it with a bit of effort.
