It seems that you can do whatever you want from what I've read about it. You can import stickers in the game from a memory stick which you can then use in the levels. I'd read on hands on where somebody had stuck a photo of their face to use as the sackboy's face.

You can create 3D objects in the levels but I'm not sure if you can with the characters. If you can I suppose there is nothing to prevent you building objects like top hats out of the fabrics they give you.

When I played it, I put a cardboard box over my Sackboy's head, took a snap of my mug using the Eyetoy camera, made a sticker out of it, and stuck it on to the box.

I only had a brief chance to cycle through the different Sackboy designs and patterns, but there was definitely a lot of choice for customisation. Following my carboard box antics, I then kitted my Sackboy with a rather fetching cowboy hat completed with matching moustache

Sounds brilliant customisation! I'll keep my idea secret untill I get the game and create it - If I can that is - then i'll take a picture and show it to you all. It'll be brilliant if it's possible.

Last week on the PlayStation Blog, we announced the whole gambit of pre-order items planned with our North American retailers. Today, we'd like to announce more details on two of the items and the retailers supporting them. (Just to clarify - you don't get all 5 items if you pre-order, just one so choose wisely :P)

The official "LittleBigPlanet Creator" miniguide @ Amazon.com
The guys at Brady Games have been getting their hands on the game for quite a while (they're working on the upcoming strategy guide - more details on this later). They're working with the folks at Amazon.com to offer a digital miniguide as pre-order incentive. The miniguide will act as a primer to our CREATORS out there looking for more hints and tips to master the 'tools of the trade'. - Click here to hit the Amazon's LBP page.

Exclusive in-game Kratos SackBoy downloadable costume @ GameStop
OK, there were lots of questions on the PS Blog about this one, so I wanted to breakdown the above to clarify a few specifics. "Exclusive" = this is the only place in North America where you can get this exclusive costume. Currently there are no near future plans to distribute on the PS Store… "In-Game" = this is not a physical object - but the render looked so good, it sold me on that idea too. "Kratos SackBoy" = Nuff' said. "Downloadable" = Once you pre-order at GameStop, they'll give you a voucher w/ a promotional code which you can redeem on the PlayStation Store for your free download at LBP launch. Obviously you'll need a copy of LBP to access the content, but I think you guys get all that. And finally, "Costume" = the Kratos SackBoy costume actually consists of four different items (signature Kratos skin, goatee, Blades of Athena (on back), and Kratos garments. So, once obtained you can interchange these items with your normal costume inventory at anytime.

Both the retailers mentioned above start their pre-order campaigns today so if you like what you see, check out either Amazon or GameStop and pre-order now. If you’re still on hold for the other items, stay tuned for more info on the Exclusive LittleBigPouch, LittleBigStickerBook and Nariko SackGirl soon.
What are the chances that we end up getting crap all over here? I'm not convinced that I'll be able to wait for an import version to turn up either.

At least the character is a code so we may be lucky enough to be able to use them over here when they appear online.

          - For those of you who love to customize - this item is for you! This exclusive sticker book contains some of our favorite LBP imagery for you to apply your own ‘mash-up’ to your favorite possessions. Or take something else you own and make it your favorite!

LittleBigPouch - Keep your LBP game safe and protected from the elements with this exclusive burlap pouch. Its so unique and stylish, it would make a SackMother proud.

          Exclusive Nariko SackGirl
          - SackBoy’s beware! Nariko SackGirl has been known to keep other SackBoys (and SackGirls) in check. This exclusive downloadable costume features our favorite heroine on the PS3.

Exclusive Kratos SackBoy - Nuff’ said. Yes…the forum rumors were true - but the biggest question remains “why didn’t this guy smile?” Seriously, this is another exclusive downloadable costume that will elevate your SackBoy status to godlike proportions.

Ok, ok, so the press love this game and so will the gamer, and that's all I was trying to say. I went back up today, and they had better development ps3's obviously, I played it early on on Sunday, and the guy I sat down with today, said there was a problem and that was hardware related and they got rid off the offending ps3's.

Anyway, I still maintain the frame rate isn't perfect, but at least the version I played today did not crash, but there was some sort of weird thing happening on the top of the screen with the level editor display, dunno if that was to do with the tv though, as the rest of the level's were playing better on the other ps3's .

My opinion is that this will go down a smash with the hardcore, and I will buy it, as it has potential, but I still think there is alot of hype surrounding this game, and alot of people are swept up in it, and are ignoring the problems at the moment, but I maintain there are frame rate issue's, though the game deserves praise, as it is something new, and I feel that the problem's will be ironed out.

But to deny there are any problem's with that e3 code is blinded. The guy at the booth even said to me, the current code is miles better than what they could show at edinburgh, so if they are saying that, then..... well I rest my case.

Still I came away today much more enthusiastic, and my initial impressions may have been clouded by faulty hardware, as the ps3's were in ridiculously small little holes, and some of the crashing I was experiencing was obviously due to hardware.

I still maintain as well, that the e3 code was lacking a little direction in the levells on display, and i played them all today. Some were excellent, but other's like the racing was a bit meh, and needs alot of tweaking, still having had more time with the level editor ina better working order, I can't wait to create some crazy ****.

Overall, better, on second play, but it is far from finished, and there are technical hiccupsto be ironed out.

Mofoman how dare you bring anti-hype to this forum!!

There's an article I've read that contains this cool bit of news:

there is already 12 months of planned DLC for the game, it will come in the form of new editing tools ? a mini music studio was spoken about but not confirmed ? coupled with levels that show off what it can do.
Great news! I'll post the link to the article, it's really more about MS limiting user content. I suggest if anyone wants to discuss that it's better put in a new thread.

I'm hoping I was dreaming (or having a nightmare) at the "celebrity" level that's being done at the moment... Anyone else at the show hear who was doing it?

New content which empowers players to create new content?

Sackzilla! Love the way that's built up, although listening to the recent 1Up Yours' it might take some time to become that proficient.

EDIT: Also a demo from the conference.
