I played LBP at the Edinbugh Interactive Festival on Sunday afternoon and I don't agree with the above comment. I built a fully operational car within five minutes and I was able to test drive it - it worked perfectly with no gaame crashes. OK, so the rocket at the back fell off, but that was my fault and resulted in my Sackboy flying through the air

I just wanted to point this out so people got a balanced perspective. The crashes could be any number of reasons, but I played pre-made levels and mucked about creating stuff for 45 minutes, and not once did I encounter any problems. It definitely needs some more work, but I was impressed with what I experienced.

Nice to hear that mate. Can't wait to get my hands on it when it is released! October isn't it?

I'm not overly worried about this going bad. One source from a forum (who does have a history of being quite anti-Sony iirc?) as opposed to the countless other people and the fact that Sony have really started pushing this makes me a little less worried.

Yeah, one of the guys told me it was out October 24.

I'd agree with this. I spent a long time with it at the Edinburgh Interactive Festival, and was, to put it mildly, blown away. I thought it was absolutely brilliant. A couple of the PS3 units themselves seemed to be having crashing issues, and one of the dev kits was hauled away when I was there (probably overheated, as it was jammed in a small enclosed space). So any negative comments could perhaps be attributed to dodgy PS3s rather than the game itself.

For anyone looking forward to this, I would say your optimism is well placed. This is set to be a truly stunning release.

It was the same build as E?, and they gave out some really cool freebies, cloth's, transfer's, and badges for the game and i took bundles, lol!!

Well, what to say really, the game is a complete and utter travesty at the moment, there is promise there, but running on actual ps3 hardware it is an absolute mess, the original video's you saw were running on pc target hardware, and getting the game to work on ps3 has been a night mare for developer's. It crashes and the frame rate is erratic as Ranger's recent result's.

The level editing mode is just far too complex at the moment, maybe some will enjoy that, but after thirty minutes, on it, I had built a screen of platform's and crap background's, and this build didn't let you play what you built, as it crashed the game.

The rest of the demo's were limited mainly to two player races, as the single player level's again crashed on the ps3 hardware.

The races were fine and good but not very awe inspiring, and this game has an absolute tonne of work left. It's a buggy mess with potential, and that's my verdict so far. Also the graphics on an actual ps3 are nothing like the screens we have seen so far.
Case in point: you must have been at a different Edinburgh Interactive Festival to me. Truly bizarre comments.

Aaw I want to play this right now!

Not seen or played it myself but it does seem to be getting praise from the people who have played it right across the board including other people who played it in Edinburgh mofoman.

I'm sure there is a punchline about you mistakenly playing the Wii version just waiting to be dredged up somebody on here...luckily I'm far too nice to do that myself.

Anyway, just posted this in theWhat's Everyone Listening to Today thread but I'm going to post it again anyway because I just want to!!!

I love that song, it suits the trailer they released perfectly!

I'm also glad to hear positive comments on the game, really looking forward to this.

What so when someone posts something negative about a game, they are anti sony, and then i take al this wii **** abuse.

What for?? I said the game was ok, and had great potential, but I am afraid that anyone who played the demo and could not see the bugs and frame rate problem's needs a walking stick, as they are clearly blind.

Also some people here bash Halo 3, mario galaxy, and many big games, remeber wind waker as well, and No more heroes. I also have to say that this game is far, far , far too advanced to even be thought of on a wii, and is obviously heavily dependent on processor and gpu, and the problems might just be balancing the work across the spu's at the moment.

Also I am not anti sony, I have everything sony has made including the ps3 now, which I bought for Afrika, and Metal Gear 4, and I am enjoying the console, so please don't dredge up that again.

I just posted it as I saw it, and many people at the event agreed with me. I could argue, that alot of people here are sony fanboys, but I just wouldn't stoop to that nonsense.

The game is technically inadequate at the moment, and needs work, though as I SAID IT HAS GREAT POTENTIAL!!!! for those who did not hear. My comment's were all aimed at balancing and technical issues.

Anyway, even one of the dev and edge guys agreeed with me, and I have it from an ex Dma staff member, and several other's who know intimately about the game, that it was first developed on target hardware, just as final fantasy is at the moment, and has been running on pc when you saw it ultra smooth, note, the comment target hardware, as these pc's are like ps3's, just have more flexibility.

I listened to the 1up podcast on the way into work this morning. Shane and Mark Macdonald have nothing but praise for the game. After listening to it I have no fears at all, this game is going to be incredible.

There were a few issues here and there, but we weren't playing the release version. I saw no major frame rate issues, or game crippling bugs. I'm also a Microsoft fanboy, though I own a PS3, and as far as I'm concerned it looked, and played like game of the year material. Everyone I was with, including a developer on GTA4 was blown away by it.

My daughter never stops asking when this game will be out. I think it will absolutely rock and I cannot wait for the chance to create my own levels.

Imagine how much better Home would be if people were able to use their sackboys & sackgirls instead of the characters you get in it now.

I hope they do the pre-orders over here with the Killzone & God of War characters like they're doing in the US. I wonder if we'll get other companies contributing characters to DLC as it's seems no matter which company you read about they all love this game.

There'll probably be loads of created characters out straight away with the standard Elvis, Hitler, Neo, Mario type characters all over the place. Imagine a Keanu Reeves sackboy, it would have far more personaility than him and also act better.

I'm not expecting it but I've been hoping that we'll be able to take our created sackboys into Rag Doll Kung-Fu when it's released.

How much can you modify your sack boy in this? As i've got a brilliant idea, but not sure if it's possible. Do we have to choose from pre-made hats, glasses, jackets etc?
