DS3 here. I can destroy ANY wheel racer on RR7, so I don't see why this would be any different. After all the vast majority will be on control pads. It's not going to be a disadvantage surely?
    Kept you waiting, huh?

A wheel is something I desire not to be the best, but primarily to get a better experience. In time, I imagine you get used to the wheel and drive as good as you could on DS3.

Pricey and noisy are in my way though.

The rest of the wheels sound annoying.
Damn, 5 year wait for this game and you've got a baby on the way! My lad has not long since turned 1 and I've only just got time to go on here again lol.

He'll sit in his little tikes car while I play.

Gonna pre-order from Shopto. Gaming wheels are something I love to look at but never manage to pull off at home(nothing to clamp them to). Now that I'm actually driving, I'm much less interested in getting the authentic experience nowadays. I've got a GT Force in the attic somewhere but I agree, the noise these things make is annoying. It sounds like when you push a remote controlled car along the carpet.

              And we have another delay.

Just 2 days, but still. I was expecting to pick this up on wednesday the 24th. Its looking to become Friday for all of Europe now.

just bought a GT force pro in anticipation for GT5 - IMO, GT games are too 'arcadey' with a pad. Wheel gives maximum effect, after all is is suppose to be a driving sim. Imagine controlling you own car with a pad....

It's a shame these races aren't WRC style with staggered starts so you don't see the other cars.

Imagine driving your own car and only being able to look out of the windscreen.

Imagine driving your own car sitting on the bumper or from a towed-trailer

Speaking of, did the eyetoy headtracking features actually make it to retail?

Suffice to say it looks hard.

Surely you'd have to be surrounded by TV's for head tracking to work?

They exaggerate the effect, so say you turn your head 10 degrees in real life, the in-game camera turns 45 degrees. (totally made up numbers). Apparently once you get used to it it works pretty naturally.

Here's a video of trackIR for PC, it makes more sense once you see it working.

Try the French, German etc official Playstation sites.
