Wii shortages still, why?

I ordered one from HMV the other day and then was told that there were over 2000 orders despite the fact that they only had a batch of 30 in and that they had the order open for 34 minutes. My order status is "Open" which means, you 'll get it next year sometime when they're available.. oh well.

Well that's typical. My local coop is doing them for 40 quid less than RRP! grrrrrr!

Anyway, people who really need one should consider UPS from Europe. Seems there is plenty of stock here. (Same with DS Lite)

They had them instock at Blockbusters in Driffield (was Choices) last night when I went to get Singstar from woolys, you could get Links Crossbow easily as well so if your in East Yorkshire/Humberside area give em a try

It seems pretty easy to get one from Game (Broadstairs) at the moment.

Popped in twice in the last 10 days just after they opened and both times they had some arriving that day that were not spoken for.

At least with HMV and Game you get to choose any 3 games with your bundle, which I did. Also got a sims game thrown in which I immediately traded back for a component cable.

The Game local to me were selling the units on their own for 180. Not sure if this varies from Game to Game.

Must vary I think. My brother bought a Wii this morning from our local Game (Harrow) and they were only doing bundle deals.

I can confirm it because that's my local GAME too. I overheard a guy asking about Wiis there last Friday and the assistant said they were only doing bundles.

There are plenty of Wiis on store shelves in Finland. Why are they out in the US, for example? Doesn't seem there are shortages in Japan.

Wii prices have sunk at Computer Exchnage now, yesterday they fell from ?200+ cash. Now they are at ?180 Trade and Cash, still selling for ?265 but have all their Christmas stock now.

I think the only way you will make money now is eBay also with most places making you buy stupid bundles.

In stock all over Burnley now. Never been much of a shortage here tbh as the intense chav culture makes PS3 #1 christmas toy.
