bit sad when you consider call of duty is primarily a pc series. guess not anymore

Well the only PC only COD's were COD1 and United Offensive, everything else since then has been multiplatform so I'd say it's been mostly a multiplatforms series for years. Not that PC users deserve to get ****ed over or anything.

yep, make up your ears. it's crap. sounds like 8-bit sampled. even worse, there's no attention to detail - a lot of FX are simply not present in Modern Warfare. a military shooter without the stereotypical "cling" sounds of cartridges hitting the ground in a gunfight? no way!

How is the sound in the PC version different?

As far as i'm aware it is only some playlists that disable party chat, not every playlist. So it could well be that the chat is disabled in hardcore modes or only ranked matches; leaving all the rest to be played whilst chatting to friends.

The Sound in the PC versions of all the CoD games have always been superior on the PC. They are always the standout titles for how sound is used in games and how they are used on a surround sound setup. The original CoD is what really brought it to the forefront and made a prime example/template for games there on. So its not suprising to say the least that the console versions are not a patch on their pc counterparts, they just don't have the backbone to what a pc can provide.

When directly asked if MW2 on PC was simply a port of the console version, Mackey responded "No, PC has custom stuff like mouse control, text chat in game, and graphics settings".

LOL! So basically, the stuff that is required for pretty much any PC game title? Let's just hope they've added settings for the advanced user aswell, such as adjustable mouse sensitivity and the ability to change key bindings.

How is the sound in the PC version different?

can't say for sure as i haven't played Modern Warfare on PC. but usually PC games feature better sound on high settings than their console counterparts - for exactly the very same reason they feature better texture and higher resolution: more memory.

Lucky most people have preordered b4 hand, what with 50 Cent doing a voiceover & now Eminems wailing. Those 2 phoneys are enough to put anyone off buying it

I saw that advert yesterday night and it really is a bad advertisement, not just because it has that crapper rapper music, but it also shows some of the later levels which has ruined another part of the story for me.

I'd recommend looking away from your tv when the advert comes on if you're trying to avoid all spoilers.

Yeah we can see where the extra 4.99 we're all shelling out has been spent.
Is it me or are IW targeting a certain group of consumers with this game? Eminem, 50Cent. Are they trying to entice the wannabe gangster types (& chavs) with their arms waving all aroung the place like a bloody Vishna? Lets be honest its as close as they'll get to 'popping a cap in yo ass ya mofo'
