Haha its so funny to see all the complaining on Kotaku about this story saying IW are ruining online for them because now they will have to listen to all the 8 year olds screaming 'FAGGOT!' and people playing ****ty music loud, ever heard of the mute ability?! It's alot easier than setting up a chat party mid game too.

Good. IMO party chat spoils a lot of online games, particularly elimination games where the 'dead' can ghost-cam around and advise on the exact whereabouts of the other team (e.g. Gears 2).

It also makes sense if the perk from MW that allows you to over-hear enemy comms is still there - you wouldn't be able to do that if the other team were in party chat...

Mute them? Seriously, all you had to do on CoD4 was press back to bring up the scoreboard, scroll to the player making the annoying noise, press X or A (cant remember, on xbox 360) and ta-da they're muted!

I prefer to just chat with mates when gaming, without fiddling with anything else. Chances are we aren't playing the same game, but we're just chatting.

I think it's a good move by IW, but I understand why it would annoy a few people.

Now, why haven't Gameplay emailed me to say I've received a free upgrade on delivery? It's still showing as 99p standard delivery, is this the same for everyone?

Am i missing something but you cant ghost cam in COD4 so even in party chat your advantage is very limited.

Gears 2 was a totally different story .

I can't actually remember the last time I used my 360 headset when playing online Cod4!

I do remember being called some ridiculous homophobic names though which is why I stopped using the headset.

i more or less always use party chat, but itl be good to hear team mates once in a while too...especially saying sorry after a miss-fire in hardcore mode...

i just get messages from jeb-ends saying i suck because i use a carbine, or p90, or 3 grenades etc.

Awful idea in forcing people to quit party chat. I only want to speak to my friends list and not random wankers online. Ok I can just mute them or unplug my headset but that's not the point, let me speak who I want to at anytime thank you very much. Seems a bit silly anyway when you can set yourself to only hear friends and get messages from friends in the dashboard (which I have on)
