    It might have been when
died if you weren't very good at resisting torture.

I guess anyone who has played Fire Emblem without cheating has a few tragedies to contend with.

FFVII is really short if you know where to go, etc. I'm sure I finished it in 25 hours or so, after breeding a gold chocobo. The time spent doing that is more than made up for by the speed at which you can smash through every boss in the game thereafter.

I knew i wasn't the only one who has done it in a quick time. It was the one game i had at the time, i played it constantly. Seeing as i was still in the Year 8/9 in school.

The ending to Okami with the music made me well up inside. I can't put my finger on anything else at the mo.

I cried hot tears of shame after realising new super mario bros was a total crappy dissapointment, probably the weakest of all the mario games if you replaced mario & the powerups youd hardly even know it was a mario game you were playing.

Come on mate, you can do better than that. With all the Japanese games you play there must be some cool tragicomic moments in one of them that nobody else has ever seen.

Why do people always say that Agro dies? He doesn't die! Did you not beat the game?

                Anyway, to contribute, Mother 3.

Dunno bout yous but Silent hill 2 was kinda traumatic........... and halo 3 had that ending with his hollogram thingy which was sad in some way i guess.

I've never cried at a videogame, they just don't give me that kind of emotion. I guess I've never cried at a film (when an adult) either though.

Obviously not seen the death of Prime in Transformers (1986 animated movie), the demise of the cook in Zulu, Rocky's date ignoring his calls in Mask or Kitt sinking into the pit of acid in Knightrider.

i did actually cry when i traded in sonic the hedgehog 2 and 3 for eternal champions on the megadrive when i was a kid. After the rave reviews in the magazines I just couldn't believe how bad it was and how much i missed my sonic games. I thought it was me with the problem and that i was missing something. It put me off games for years afterwards.

                              FYI, it wasn't so much

                              Aerith's death

in FF7 that got me welling up as I hated her, it was the music that got me - has to be one of my all time favourite Uematsu compositions.

                              Now

                              Zack's death

in Crisis Core was genuinely heart wrenching, not only because of the emotional attachment to the character (yes I prefer him to Cloud) but also because of the incredibly graphic natured undertones surrounding the scenes.

Dragon Quest VIII also, plenty of npc
in that. Although the npcs in question were not major storyliners, the effect they had on the main characters was profoundly moving. The end sequence also got me, a real sense of sadness at completing what I felt was the PS2's strongest RPG offering.

Thought someone might have mentioned the bit in Mass Effect when you have to

choose which of two characters to save

. It didn't bother me - the only character I was remotely attached to apart from my own stunning, blonde Commander Sheppard was the blue girl who could mate with anyone.
