I just saw a video of someones first impressions on this, and it looks very annoying to set up fully, and the guy claims for his height (6'1) you need about 6 - 8' of clear space for it to work properly.

I've just found out Australia wont get voice controls at launch. I mean WTF? We're an english speaking country and this is made more frustrating by the fact they're just blanket restricting it so the only way to turn it on would be to setup a US/UK account.

A few guys in the beta here said they did that and it worked perfectly so in short, MS is being a complete b*stard to us here for no good reason.

The uk wasn't going to get it either at launch, they must of got it ready though.
I'm sure it will be there soon for oz

The move country option is pretty much useless at the moment if you're outside any of the new regions they're launching in this month



I thought this was going to be a God send for people like me who wanted to finally sort out moving their US account to a UK one. Obviously not

So now its not even a case of them being able to pretend that they can't move regions, they just won't move them.

It's times like this (and the `OH NOES! Bad coverage of our new baby, take it downnnn!!` mentality) that really annoy me about Microsoft.

I had naively assumed that you could move from any country to any other country. That's ridiculous.... That means that whenever I want to use Netflix, I have to go into my Silver Canadian account, launch Netflix, it says, you need a Gold account, then has to sign me into my UK Gold account - nuts!

Oh great - I'm 6'6", so that's me screwed, I have probably 8' of space at a push, any more than that will involve banging my head on the ceiling when jumping!

Im 6'3" but thankfully my lounge room has enough space for two players provided I move the coffee table and push back the sofa. Bit of a pain in the butt but it can be done.

My Kinect has officially shipped from Amazon (US) via DHL so hoping that means an early delivery next week.

Game have said they shipped mine (I buckled and thought what the hey) but I don't think they have.

I suspect that maybe putting the kinect sensor higher up might give you a bit more leway for space.

You'll probably get an email tomorrow which says

You may have received an email from us saying that Your Order Is On It's Way.

This just means that its being held by the courier ready for delivery on launch day.

It's what they've done with me for Black Ops

I've not been interested in this at all ever since it was announced, I like my gaming with a controller, I need the tactile feedback and physical response (why i prefer typing on a blackberry but I still use an iphone for the other benefits).

Having said that, I was down GAME on oxford st last saturday and was surprised how small the kinect is and while there are no games I'm interested in, my buying impulse kicked in and I thought it would be fun for me and my nephew to play, so is this pretty much sold out now?

I can't seem to find it online anywhere, except for the console bundles which I don't need as I have four of them anyway! But another rrod... slimmer...smaller...

the new slims don't take the memory units do they? Possible to use your old hard drives?
