one stupid thing is that if you dont have a slim, which im sure a lot of us dont, you can inly use kinect with the USB port on the back for some reason, so does that mean i have to plug my wireless adaptor, in the front thats going to look lovely, no sale for me , how stupis is that that kinect wont recognise the front USB ports.

It's more that the plug is physically too big to fit in the front one I think.

Reading some impressions on this ealyer this morning, I can't believe they couldn't of put a wide angle lens in this. It also seems that you have to be quite close together in two player too, unless you have a massive amount of space.

The reviewers also talked about the lack of standardized controll between games, you would think Microsoft would of created some set of basic navigation standards to make the thing a bit more user friendly.

The way the depth checking works it wouldn't work with a wider angled lens. It doesn't do the body tracking using the visible light camera. The angle between the two cameras is pretty key to how it works.

the reason it wont work with the front ports is that it they dont have the bandwidth unlike the rear port.

                  stupid i know

I might as well say it.

It's a conspiracy by M$ to get people to buy the new 360s.

So what your saying is the way it works is flawed, the key to casual gaming is something that you turn on and it just works for every one, like the Wii or playstation + if you have room to swing your arm you can use it

Its not flawed, it works pretty well. It's just that it wouldn't work if you tried to make it cope with a wider angle and shorter depth of field.

I probably won't be able to play it in multiplayer because of the set up of my lounge I'd say that is a pretty big flaw, should I and millions of others with small lounges move house so we can play kinetic? with friends?

The tech needs the space. If you don't have the space, don't buy the tech.

I don't understand the rage here. People don't have a whinge when someone releases a 100" TV and their lounge is too small for it.

The way Kinect works, it needs the space. I'm sure they'd love to have it not need so much, and future iterations probably won't. But right now it is what it is.

Probably because even without the 100" screen, you can still watch TV/Blu Rays etc with an alternative more appropriate for your living conditions.

With Kinect you don't have that choice. Don't have the space, you can't play Kinect games at all and whilst personally I'd view this as a blessing in disguise, I can see why those who were interested may be miffed if they now find they don't meet the rather stringent space requirements.
