I get that there's only so many ways to show these things off but for me that's pretty shoddy advert. It's far too long and as a casual viewer it wouldn't showcase the hardware enough. Unless I was paying enough attention to the end (which typically I wouldn't be) I'd just passingly assume it's another Wii advert. With the exception of the US Move advert it's been the same with Sony's device too. The ads highlight the Wii parallels too strongly.

The unboxing vid made me wonder how we're supposed to mount the sensor on top of a plasma/LCD since nothing is included.... So did some googling and the plasma mount kit is an accessory costing $40! Screw that, think i'll try my luck with some Blu-tack or just place it below the TV where the surround sound centre speaker sits and will no doubt play havoc with the voice recog!

Im in the same boat mate but I've got no option but to sit mine of top of my centre speaker because I have a fixed projector screen. There is no way it can sit on top of the screen as it'll be close to the ceiling and looking down too far (Im not even sure it can work like that?)...
So watching the instructional videos on the dashboard for placement one guy does say try to keep it away from speakers... umm ok. Hopefully it wont be too bad but it remains to be seen.
I've got one pre-ordered and if it doesnt work in my setup then I'll be selling it just as quickly.

The speaker should only interfere with the voice recognition, can't see me really using that as I don't play any videos on the 360 - unless they start putting it into games....
Not sure if I'll even be allowed to use the voice part at launch anyway, since it's supposed to be region locked and Canada not included. They probably haven't thought about the fact that there may be people with British accents living here

Well I will let you know how I fare with it. As it'll be sat directly on top of my large centre speaker its probably going to struggle. Im also interested in how well it will work in the dim lit room I need for my projector with the light from the projector aimed at it, or just above for the screen.
I've read it can cope as it uses infra-red but it remains to be seen.

Is there anything that says that it has to be dead centre above/below the screen? I'm thinking it might be better off centre on my TV unit, that would give me maximum room coverage as my unit is against a wall at the moment, which would make it tricky for 2 player with the sensor dead centre...

Looks like they had.....fun?!
The stand outs for me are Dance Central, Your Fitness and Kinectimals. With that whole plush toy scanning thing they've got going for Kinectimals I forsee kids just going absolutely crazy for it. I mean, it is beyond uber-cute even if it is just a rip-off of Nintendogs and upteen other petting simulators. The graphics and animations on the cubs are superb.
Your Fitness. Loved the part in the video where he complained his punches werent registering and then realise it was alternate arm punches and he had to use his other hand. This game is made for my girl. She is a yoga freak and if this works as it seems she will be glued to this every weekend.
Dance Central is the big game in this line-up. This game, a party of friends and some drinks = strike a pose idiocy at its best. It's like rock band without the instruments. Reminds me of when me and my mates used to get really drunk and then form a circle on the dancefloor in nightclubs and do stupid crazy moves (ie, we cant dance) just for the laugh. Except now we'll get achievements for it in our own home.
Last one thing I note from the video. I like how the table tennis asked you to pick a hand for your bat at the beginning and seems to have some depth to the spinning of the ball. It seemed to slowdown at points (intentionally) to allow power shots.
Then Joyride I wasnt interested in before but it seemed to work. At least one guy was doing well and working out finer cornering movements, boosting and so on. The other guy seemed to be standing all wrong with his arms out too far in front and suffering for it?
Anyway... It isnt the horrific lag-fest most were expecting but I am still way off convinced on some titles. We'll see. My pre-order still stands but I havent decided what games I'll put in the bag with it.

The technology itself is interesting. The games lineup so far with the exception of Dance Central is laughable. The software they're showing off for it, really offers nothing that the Wii doesn't already offer (for the same price without needing to also have another console as well).
Joyride just looked all the way through like it needed the Wii remote + steering wheel or a PS3 pad with the wheel add on. I certainly don't see £129.99 in it at the moment.
That said however, the technology is interesting, and if they can actually think of something to do with it, a year or two down the line, it may well be worth grabbing one.
