Seems that's the 'official' list of titles so far. I'll be curious as to how many of those are ports/updates rather than original entries as well.

Didn't they say during the conference that it'll be less than the cheapest iphone currently available?

Anyhow, my bet is £249-£279 depending on how much of a hit sony want to take.

If this can launch with Monster Hunter Portable 3... This could demolish the 3DS (in Japan at least).

Like the style of it, much better than the Go, but seriously they are surely fighting a losing battle for gaming-on-the-go? Apple i-stuff > NDS3D > PSP2. Since buying a 4th gen Ipod Touch I just don't see the point of gaming on the go on any other device. Yes most of the games are a bit ****, but for a quick fix of gaming for 59p, the big guns Nintendo and Sony don't stand a chance!

Having said that, if a brand new Ridge or a port of Gradius V ends up on it, I'm in!

Also those dual stick will mean FPS-city!

Impressive, waiting for games and price tag. My biggest problem with new Sony hardware is that their most known franchises don't appeal to me that much.
I'm also a bit worried about the overall strenght of the chassis, it feels like the NGP is begging to be dropped.

Look at all you lot spunking over it!

Let us see the price and some actual games first. The PSP promised so much and took ages to deliver quality gaming. The batterly life was crap, as were the loading times.

Given the high price of the NDS they need to be aggressive at launch, if they are they might claw more market than they did with the first PSP like MS did with the Xbox line. The iphone is completely irrelevant to the 3DS and PSP2 so they don't need to worry about comparing their market approach to that device.

I've got no problem with everyone being so excited over this. I think it's great and nice to see. It's obviously a hardcore gamers dream and everyone has every right to be excited.

I do think that any talk of 'the 3ds is dead!' 'Sony are amazing and have won already!' is completely daft though..

Also talk of these handhelds not being viable because of the iphone, that's just laughable imo.

To be honest, the iphone is a '5 minutes at the bus stop' or 'it just happens to be in my pocket' gaming device.

I've probably spend about ?15 on games in the 15 months I've had it.

Angry birds is nice but I've been playing flash physics based catapult games for ages, it doesn't do anything those didn't do. Plants vs Zombies? It's just another twist on TD games that have been around since Warcraft 3. Espgaluda is nice but the controls trivialise the game (I only die if my finger 'sticks' or I get knocked).

I had more enjoyment and more gaming time out of KH: Birth by sleep alone than all of IOS.

                  Back on topic:

If they get price sorted and can match the 3DS' battery life, Sony deserve to hit this out of the park.

Course there is no problem really! But it isn't he first time this has happened. Lets hope it delivers. Could be amazing if it does.

Tell you what though. All that power in a small case. Does it worry anyone like the Xbox 360 does?

Looks all very impressive . However I shall remain sceptical until I get to see and play the thing in real life .... they do have a nasty habit of promising gold and delivering tin ....

It was known to have heat dissipation issues in the prototype hence why it's not a slider (something the people doing the mockups ignored).

ARM are incredibly good at what they do though, their CPUs simply don't get hot (pretty hard to when they consume <1"). The quad core PowerVR is a different matter but this thing is going to be in lots of tablets and smartphones in a couple of years which will be smaller than the NGP and have more tightly packed electronics.

The interesting thing will be the battery. If they go above 1800mah that's a sure fire sign that this thing consumes a lot of power.

But seriously, this thing is MASSIVE. P for Portable is a total lie.

This thing is not going to be anywhere near the 3ds in price. Honestly I don't understand why people can't see this? Bizarre. The battery life is also going to be pretty poor.

Biggest problem (bar the price of Peace Walker on the store) with the Go for me was that the screen was smaller. 5" screen sounds epic. I want that. I want something as big as a Lynx. I've got an iTouch and a game capable Android but I simply don't play games on them. There's clearly a market for super casual, super cheap gaming on the go but I think there's also a market for big, proper games on the go, especially if we can start doing what Kojima was talking about and carry on playing our PS3 games after we leave the house.

Price is an issue of course but this looks so good I'll basically flog all the other techy tat I've got to finance it.

Don't forget, the 3DS itself is pretty overpriced considering the innards.

                                This thing is XBOX HUUGE:
