    @randicoot

You need to see how they work on psp. It's awesome.

It seems better to me to read comics on a device that only show you one frame at a time, instead of having half the story spoilt ny being shown to complete pages at once. It's really hard to turn of your peripheral vision like that.

Pretty revolutionary stuff here. Personally I'd rather read comics as they were originally intended, page by page I have never thought of it as spoiling the story.

I have watched videos of the PSP comic reader, and the smart zooming tech is clever (reminiscent of an iOS comic reader that was around for a while in the early days but got kicked off the App Store for some infringement). But personally I just don't want to scroll around a page in that way, it seems a lot awkward than just actually reading page by page as you would normally. And this from someone who read reams of manga on his Kindle (no zoom!! I just squinted because I'm hardcore).

If you're limited to only one panel at a time, a lot of the coolest narrative tricks you can do in comics simply aren't available to you.

Hell, half of what Bendis writes would be unavailable to you.

You aren't limited to one panel at a time. It's a compromise I admit. Same as ebooks are a compromise. There are pros and cons. Pros include author commentary, one handed bedtime reading with the lights off. The cons have been mentioned already.

I liked using my PSP as a comic reader. I wasn't a regular buyer but I did purchase the whole of X-Men: Civil War & Batman: Hush, as well as other bits 'n bobs. I would have bought more Batman but I had some of it in book form. sets

Next year for US and Europe. Looks like they're really focusing on getting a solid launch lineup.

Hopefully, it'll be the deal breaker element for most I imagine

No great surprise. Hopefully it will make for a stronger launch, whenever it gets here.

That's disappointing. The delay gives the tablet brigade to catch up with the tech in the Vita. It's USP at the moment is the insane power under the hood but once that becomes more common it might struggle a bit. The Amazon tablet is supposed to pack some serious power

His reasoning is that it's expensive, not amazingly portable and people just have android phones or iphones that are good enough?

If only theIr was a Product thAt Disproved everything he said.

But also, am I misinterpreting the tone or is he damning the Xperia Play thing which seems to fulfill his criteria of what people want? I could have misread that.

Does the iPad really disprove that people are willing to spend the monies on handheld tech from a gaming point of view?
Cause the flip side of that says that the 3DS (6 month price cut) proves that people are NOT willing to spend money on new gaming handhelds, even when they push new technology.
Apple have a totally seperate market to everyone else, they can't even but put beside Nintendo or Sony anymore. They have money, business and fashion and even more on their side.
Could I go into a business and say the 3DS or Vita will change the way they show training videos or sell products in-store? Na I couldn't.
+1 sale for iPad, now times that by the requirements of said store, maybe 3 per store over 150 stores that's 450 iPads sold.
Flip the coin again and say are there REALLY people out there who have spent upwards of ?400 on an iPad to JUST play games on it?
                                Doubt it very much.
Vita is going to have a very tough launch indeed.
