Sounds good. Releasing at that time though could be dangerous- it'll be going head-to-head with the Lindbergh-based, Dreamcast 2 handheld Sega are launching.

I'm just not buying it, an attachable analogue stick is a stupid idea that no developer would touch due it the risks of alienated non-equipped players. It's a massively clunky and flawed solution to a problem that frankly isn't that big. The lack of a 2nd analogue is annoying but not enough to stop millions of NDS and PSP gamers enjoying their titles. The same game development userbase issue would exist if a redesign featured a built in 2nd slider too. I'm fully expecting a redesign that increases screen quality and battery life etc but nothing that affects the systems graphical output or controls. Certainly not yet either, no way they'd move on anything before seeing the effects of the marketing refocus and price reductions, which seem to be working.
Even when things are improving it seems like some sites still can't resist sticking a boot in :/

My favorite prediction still remains - at this rate Nintendo will end up like Sega within the next 5 years.
Who in their right mind would buy a Wii-U at launch if this is their new gameplan? News of a console redesign just 6 months after the launch of the original?
A major redesign will cost nintendo more than just a couple of eshop games to put right with early adopters! If the 3DS has taught Nintendo anything it's that you need more than the brand name to sell your product.

Nintendo did announce they had something up their sleeve for the Zelda anniversary...
Dragon Quest or Pokemon both seem likely. Not convinced they'd show Monster Hunter at their own show.
A bit less predictable : FFV remake. Square Enix were a key developer early in the DS' days. They've not much lined up for the console, just a vapourware kart title and KH: DDD
