I had both the 3DS and Ridge Racer on pre-order with Amazon on 2 seperate orders. 3DS was ordered in January but only ordered Ridge at the weekend. Just emailed Amazon support hoping I can get the reduced price.

Well I just received reply confirming that I have had the price of Ridge Racer reduced although a little miffed at the reply implying that this is my fault.

I have investigated your order and found that as you did not follow the steps associated with the offer, your order did not qualify for it. In order to avail of this offer, you needed to add both to your basket.

Despite me clearly placing the seperate orders over a month apart and the offer only being made available today.

One would expect so, being a 1st party title and all - 3rd party developers have a lot less riding on the launch, therefor can afford to be a little less thorough in their approach to implementing the very best 3d effect they possibly can.

Pilotwings has lovely 3D, imagine that the plane or pilot is a cool 3d model, and the secenry goes quite deep back behind the 3DS, it has better 3D than RR and it was the best launch game i played.
The best 3D Pop out of screen effect has to be on Nintendogs+cats
you call over the cat or dog and they jump up to you and they pop out a good couple of cm, really impressive effect worth having a look at even if you dont want to buy the game.

I remember being so in love with Pilotwings 64, would love that feeling again. I'd be happy if the 3DS continues the trend of being a platform of N64 updates and re-releases :-)

Browse, yes confirmed but browser not included with the system. Will be released shortly after launch.
Nintendo has spoken about and demoed 3d movies on the system but as yet nothing firmly announced. I wouldn't be massively confident based on thier past track record with online content.
Nothing about TV content has been announced or even mentioned as far as I'm aware so I smell BS from Mr Game.

awesome, they've not messed up pilotwings, not saying it was the best game ever but there aren't many I have fonder memories of, probably driven by the huge wait since the N64 incarnation (must be 14-15years)

I've been out of the loop and don't feel like trawling through previous pages. Can someone tell me about region locking?

is it mandatory?

Is it all games?

Is there a workaround that doesn't involve buying a UK, US and Japanese system?

Are Euro countries locked out, or is there a single format for Europe?

What are people saying about the region-lockout? Most coverage I've seen in magazines has been the press quite passively dropping trou' and letting Nintendo have their way.

Pilotwings and Ridge Racer both getting an 8 is enough for me, and if Pro Evo 2011 comes in with good reviews im more than happy with the launch games i have chosen.
