Sure someone could unknowingly buy a system or game that doesn't work at home but its true of most systems and people cope fine.

That's not why I'm angry - it's because my ideal situation is like the PS3. You buy a region free system and domestic games, and when a game you want doesn't come out you import it casually.

By region locking I'm forced either to mod my system, pirate, or buy a second and third piece of hardware. Often just to buy one or two Japan- or US-exclusive games.

Like Red Seeds Profile, which never got a PAL release on PS3. No problem, I imported it and things were grand. Now all I need is for the one game I really want to only come out in Japan and the US, and then I am totally screwed.

So if I were to buy a 3DS it would have to be like I did with my Wii. Get a US system, since generally the US has the best release schedule for English language games - but even then I'm screwed out of my obscure and niche Japanese titles, and I can't buy cheap domestic games second-hand.

The whole thing infuriates me. I want freedom to buy as I please. Every sentence Yarnton said made me want to punch him in the face. With glass knuckle dusters. I want my FREEEDDDDOOOOOMMMM!!!!

To me the 3DS and NGP can co-exist in my pocket same as I enjoyed Psp and DS at the same time

Good glad you agree, im a fan of all formats and i own all the next gen consoles so im not a fanboy. It really is sad how people think that games have to bee COD need for speed and other mainstream stuff when they miss out on classics because they have cartoon graphics or some other stupid reason. I will get a NPG but i feel it wont add much other than being a portable ps3 so most people will just play it at home anyway, with a gimmicky touch pad, and a touch screen with big fat fingers in the way of the screen, why no stylus ?

The rear touch pad is very cool, but other than that its boringly predictable. Its common sense the next PSP would be PS3 standard.

Not just that. They had to bail from making proper games that could stand up on their own and move to godawful 'freemium' games of the Farmville type because the App Store has killed his market with their 99c pricing. His company is living proof that the App Store isn't all that great compared with proper retail gaming, which the 3DS and NGP are going for.

Apple conference on too. iPad 2 announced with dual core A5. Twice processing and 9x graphical power of first one. Still no gaming controls though...doh

just updated the firmware on my 3DS. There is now a video icon on my screen with a 3D clip of the live band playing Mario music from Nintendo World Japan! Just those wondering about finger prints, it seem the lower part is very finger print resistant. The upper screen however suffers but i guess you wont be touching it that much. The thing is a dust magnet tho ><
