I love Penny-Arcade's description of the 3DS online store - " Their online store is a nightmare: it’s like the nightmare an actual online store would have, it’s like if an online store were looking into a mirror while its f***ing face melted away and the only thing that could staunch this horror was the eventual liquefaction of its optic nerve."

You mean you're not satisfied with this weeks update: The 2nd worst version of Pacman ever?
The irritation of the 3DS store is that the store interface is good. You get descriptions of the games, screenshots (except when they're broken and you can't zoom in), videos, etc. More than you get on PSN.
It's just they've organised it with insanely specific, random categories, it's expensive and, most importantly, they're releasing crap on it. The GBs catalogue of quality titles may be small but they can certainly release more than they are right now.

I never said the celebrity endorsed ads were for us, we don't need ads as by and large the people in this thread would by a nintendo branded sandwich if nintendo hyped it enough, I know I wouldI can see why they use jedward for the ds it makes sense it has its place, they just need to do something similar to make the 3ds desirable to the mas market, as at present it looks about as healthy as a dog in a hot car.

Unfortunately for Nintendo, the 3DS only plays games and decidedly average at best 3D content - and when the games are the driving force, you have to make certain that the games are there. 3rd party support for it at launch has been poor, and is still only about average now. Nintendo should have accepted this fact and launched the console with a Mario game.
I've no sympathy for Nintendo execs taking wage cuts or share prices tumbling, the 3DS strategy was wrong in pretty much every aspect - from launch window right down to pricing.Last edited by Daragon; 02-08-2011, 11:00.

Does the iPad/Touch as a gaming device still not concern you Nintendo?
10 maybe even 5 years down the road, if Nintendo haven't gone the way of Sega I will be quite impressed.

I would have thought it would lead to some branding and marketing discussions. Differentiating it from the Wii and making very clear to people why they should want one, something they pretty much failed to do for a lot of people with the 3DS, would seem actually more important than the price - cheaper definitely helps tip people over the edge but, when it comes to spending ?150-200, they still need to really want one.
