Well, if you don't like it, that's fine. However, I'm not the only person in the world that loves it. There's still a massive fan base. Obviously I hang out on PES forums, official and not, and the general feeling now is that it's back.

It's probably hard to gauge for some as they went to FIFA and got hooked. Coming back to PES may have felt backwards in some respects. Animation fluidity for example. There's nothing wrong with this. I've gone to FIFA and found a great game too. However, in my personal opinion after playing PES2011, I'm almost dreading having to play FIFA11 again with my friends. I will though, as I enjoy Clubs alot. However, I can't get quite as excited with the FIFA11 demo as I personally do with PES2011. It's just what tickles my fancy.

There's just too much bitching going on. People questioning "why the hell do you like this game?". If you don't see/feel it then fine, but please don't try to make out that this game is already 'fail' and is only loved by blind nobed fans pretending they like the game.

I don't think it would be slated. Yes it does creak a little, feels more like PES 7 than a 5 year evolution but I still feel it does play a good game. I did enjoy them demo despite my comments today but that bug must be fixed and I will laugh like mad if it doesn't.
Not because of PES fans etc, but because Konami will be committing suicide of they don't fix it.

That bug is a shocking one to pass the testers. It does happen but even so it is very game breaking.

Apart from that I really enjoyed the demo. Really liked the passing and had an enjoyable game or two of football, though I did find that the 360 version stuttered and lagged when changing angles in the new camera mode but this didn't happen on the PS3 version?

From what I've been reading on PES forums, the stuttering is occurring on 360 version. Even still, not all 360 users have witnessed it. Strange one. Maybe it's a TV resolution related thing?

I'm not saying that I defy anyone to have fun with pes but I do think that it has built up a lot of goodwill due to rose-tinted memories of previous games as well as (entirely justified) memories of FIFA being a useless licensed unplayable waste of space.
In 2-3 years it may well have (IMO) taken the baton back off FIFA. And if so I'll be more than happy to buy it. EA have not stolen my soul.

Bloody hell, looks like I'll not be investing in a footy game again this year. Guess I'll spend the money on WE6:FE

                A quality choice indeed.

The more I play this game the more im falling in love with it, absolute perfection in my eyes, presuming the bug will be ironed out in the final version.

Just had some wonderfully natural, flowing moments in every game, and the free passing mechanism just works to perfection. It doesnt feel 'on rails' anymore, and having just about gotten used to the new system now from the demo, it's starting to shine.

Also discovered the dive command, which results in epic hilarity.

Oh and any chance we can get this thread back onto this game, and not about how long you lot have been playing pes, or prefer fifa? No one gives a ****.

Good to hear, Dave. Please tell me you're getting the PS3 version so we may be able to play online

I had the CPU dive against me, nobody was anywhere near them though and they got booked. Top comedy.
How does everyone feel about the difficulty? I'm finding it a bit on the easy side. The only time the ai threatens is when they get a corner really. Or sometimes a free kick.

Hoolak, unfortunately ive only just re-bought a 360! so there'll be no ps3 online play from me. But I will officially be rinsing xbox live non stop come the 8th! Really curious to see how the online master league works...guessing it will be like a forza style marketplace?

Stoppy, I know what you mean about the difficulty. Have you cranked it up though? The demo has full difficulty options, meaning you can crank it all the way to 11. Havent had the comp dive on me yet, but been getting booked alot myself trying it at the right time. Hilarity +1

its great but the pens my only complaint , overcomplicate something that has always been sound in pes i dont understand why they fiddle with some things for the sake of it and after last years feedback too

I must admit I did find it rather tricky the demo. Half the problem is remembering the commands from PES after not spending much time with the series in the past 4 years.

I think I ended up with the medium setting just to win a few games!

My problem has been getting used to the 360 pad! I've played pes on playstation for the last 5-6 years or so at least, and its well strange having tiny R1 L1 buttons to run and switch player!

Had some lovely moments playing last night though, and getting more and more used to wrong footing players, and the general 'inertia' of the play I suppose you could say. Turned some of the Munchen defence inside out with some well timed feints / flicks up and over.

I always use the triggers for run/change player, far more comfortable in my opinion
