I really dislike all the advertising and the way it always defaults to the "spotlight" channel, it's obnoxious. There are several functions that you can only perform in the mini guide too which is confusing... Microsoft simply do not know how to do a good UI. It would be nice to install themes but typical they want space bucks for that: not going to happen!
At least the avatars are nice, I think I prefer mine to my Mii.

I have to say that I expected mine to go. I'd been getting 1 light of death which turned out to be the hard drive since I upgraded the HD I've not seen it since but I expected this to bork a few things.
I've also had it lock up for a good minute when looking at the friends list.
Other than that though it seems pretty good.

I spend so little time in the XBox menus that this update isn't much of a positive or negative thing for me either way. I was impressed with how quick it downloaded and installed though. Considering how different it is, I would have expected longer. So kudos to MS for a quick easy update.

Just noticed a nice new feature. When you put a game disc in and it is booting up, you get a little message telling you that people are playing it, you can press the guide button at this point and it takes you to your friends list.
Also just put Halo 3 in and Bungie have posted a message telling you to run it from disc.Last edited by EvilBoris; 19-11-2008, 19:05.

This is the most awesome update to ever happen to a gaming system, I mean it's essentially a new operating platform for the system, and looking at it closely, it holds huge upgradeability, and will offer more and more as time goes on, as the interface can now address the hard drive for game data, etc.., it can also be updated and future software easily integrated in to what is a watered down windows without IE.
I love it, I think it's amazing, truly inovative and revolutionary, and bigger hdd's have just been ordered. I think the online scores for loading times were from a beta build, as in all my game's it has dramatically reduced loading, andf any lag issues.
