Vice City's soundtrack was brilliant, really set the tone well but after that they've gotten progressively worse not just in tracks but even in the speech sections. IV was a real low in terms of radio stations, hope they can recapture the fun in V.

Episodes From Liberty City had some really good rock songs for Lost & Damned and good dance/club songs for Gay Tony.

If I remember correctly, the tracks are mixed within radio channels, so you will have deejays talking over them at the start or end to give the illusion of a show. So in that case, the choice of tracks matter a little.

Vice City's radio was so good i bought the soundtrack :-).
GTA IV had 1 or 2 memorable tracks but that was it. Real disappointing.

Maybe with GTA V Rockstar couldn't get bigger & better bands' approval so we're left with a very weak selection instead?

"Very weak selection"? What are you smoking? There's rock, gangsta rap, country, soul, pop/dance, even a punk station FFS.

The complaints in this thread are pretty funny. One guy thinks it's not indie enough and another one complains that there are not enough big mainstream songs here. You really can't please everyone, not even when you license 40+ hours of music for your game. If your favourite song isn't there it's "weak" immediately.

They got my favourite song: Scandalous by Mis-teeq.

I thought it was The Dogg Pound for you. Or Snoop Dogg.

Well it's certainly nice having Gin N Juice in there. A real classic. And there's a bunch of stuff in there I don't recognise - one of treats of the GTAIV music for all the negativity about it here was the tracks I didn't know and then went to seek out. GTAIV introduced me to Kavinsky, which can only be a good thing.

I think the track list is excellent, loads of stuff I know, loads of stuff I don't which I will in turn discover, really good variety for me. It's impossible to please everyone but come on 40 hours worth of music is outrageous lol nothing else comes close.

It'll need something epic to compete with the sound of Aerosmith's 'I don't want to miss a thing' as you ride a rocket into the stratosphere. Radio-Ga-Ga it is then.

Mis-teeq have you covered. Imagine driving top speed off the top of a car park to this...

That would be cool. I liked the radio banter, some of jt was very funny and it gave the game a light tone despite getting a blowie from a hooker then killing her to get the cash back!

As long as it's not Juliette Lewis or Iggy Pop again. They were so unfunny in IV I thought I might die. Mind you, the script they had was atrocious.

I don't expect to find my favourite songs on there for gods sake, just a nice selection of decent stuff instead of the mostly strong hip hop line up, which is obviously stronger to follow with the gangsta theme from Gta SA

Cruis'n around listening to this would be cool.
Not my usual cup of tea but it's too damn catchy.
