I don't believe that was ever their intention with the series though, these games are a lot more personal and less mainstream in structure than that.

But the ending is so arbitrary and disconnected, and riddled with holes. There's just no avoiding that. It's not that it's a bad ending so much that it's so arbitrary and makes you feel like everything you did was a waste of time. The gaping plotholes are what really bother me more than anything.
Despite that, you should definately play it to completion - everything up until the last 10 minutes is pure class.

And to quote just one of the dozens of these:

I'm nearly at the end so I guess I'll live with it, as I can't see a rewrite addressing decisions made becoming a reality.
People seem to be getting differnt endings in regards to who has lived and died and stuff. Those are the things that drive these games, your own personal descisions in regards to the characters. The fact that everyone has the same outcome to the overarching story means little, becuase that's not what Mass Effect is about.

No it doesnt. Not at all.
Who lives and who dies effects things on a personal level, thats how these games are different for everyone. However the plotline in regards to sheapard going out and saving the galaxy will play out much the same for everyone, but that doesnt bother me, becuase for me thats not what mass Effect is about.
See this is why i said that I felt you didnt really get what they were aiming for the other day, youre misunderstanding me now becuase you cant seem to see the difference between the way the game works on a personal level and the overarching plot (which is actually not half as important in the grand scheme of things).
Youre now saying I contradicted myself when i didnt at all, I couldnt possibley have because I was talking about two very different things.Last edited by rmoxon; 21-03-2012, 11:52.
