More gameplay narrated by Kojima. There's the jeep and the helicopter.

You can select the song the helicopter plays when it picks you up. In the demo they play "The Ride of the Valkyries". Pretty funny stuff, just what you'd expect from Kojima game.

Only problem is, it's just too hard to decide which song to play!

Even if it doesn't look as good as that on consoles, or even a bit better looking than MGS4, I will be thrilled. It all sounds ace what they are telling us.

They've said that if the music is too loud the enemy can here you coming.
        Nice Kojima Touch

The big question Mark for me is that the game is now 'open world' which I'm itself causes issues due to memory limitations. It makes me suspicious that the image quality is significantly better than the last title and the game is open world.

I take it Fable the Journey is going to look as Good as this then

the trickery is to put all CPU and GPU power into the graphics engine and leave behind any aspirations for AI and physics...

I was watching that video with a mixture of disbelief and 'mind you...'.

On the one hand it looks over and above everything I've seen this gen, making my brain scream TARGET RENDERS AHHH but on the other hand, I think every MGS game has looked over and above everything else at the time by a fair margin.

I was trying to figure out whether they were doing some visual trickery with the rain and stuff because a lot of it did not compute, but I expect the video was a mixture of real-time and pre-recorded footage like they did with MGS4(using the game engine) to quickly cut between areas without a significant change in detail. Will be interesting to see what the 360 makes of all this, though!

I don't think their version of open world is the same as GTA open world.

I think it may mean big open levels that you can hope between at any time.

I think Kojima's "open-world" here is going to be similar to Assassin's Creed. I think he likes that game too.

Kojima has shown off some of Ground Zeroes on PCs that are set to current gen specs at 30fps. Next week they're supposed to demo it again on next gen spec PCs at 60fps. Gameplay is said to be simplified compared to previous games, Splinter Cell Conviction used as the comparison.

Is there a date for this? Is it launch window or just miles off into the distance

Seems like its still miles off. Not heard of a PC versiin either. Unless it suddenly appears Im expecting Ground Zero to be out near Xmas 2014 and Phantom Pain another year later. I don't really feel there needs to be current gen version unless its coming soon, it seems like theres little point to Zeroes without Pain and it could be so far away no one will bother with the gimped versions.

I thought Ground Zeroes and Phantom Pain were two parts of the same game, like Tanker and Big Shell :/

I'm worried by 'simplified gameplay'. Splinter Cell is a pile of wank.

You should never "thought" when it comes to MGS.
                                Kept you waiting, huh?
