There's always going to be a certain amount of latency because it has to encode the image and send it over WiFi (or even the internet). Still, latency should be minimised because the PS4 has a dedicated video encoder, meaning any latency will be entirely due to the network connection rather than the video encoding.

This is difference to the PS3, which had to actually use CPU resources to do the encoding while simultaneously running the game, Hence it was only supported in a handful of titles.

The reviewers were all in the same hotel, and connected to the hotel routers (rather than direct to the PS4, or on a closed network) I would assume that this might have a negative effect too? I suppose if the hotel wifi router was very robust it would cope fine with 5+ PS4 connections and remote play, but would think this didn't help matters?

BF4 looked unplayable from the video. NFS looks laggy as hell. :/

I guess I'm a little more positive because I played Shadow of the Colossus on Vita using Remote Play, using an awful Mobile WiFi device and entirely using 54Mbit wireless (no Wireless N) and things were fine. So I'm expecting the PS4 to only be better!

Still, we'll see eh?

Hotel wifi lol that it worked at all shows how robust this is, think of all the people in that hotel watching Netflix, browsing the net watching special movies ect, not to mention all the ps4 set ups, if it performs under those conditions its gonna be great on a home network.

As a pure games machine it would probably be my #1 choice, but MS might do something like kinect fitness that sells a huge volume to non core gamers.

The MS 1st party games are going to be fantastic, and I can cope with multiplats being PS4, in the same way that I used 360 this gen.

I see alot of my fellow XBL friends are sticking to Xbox even if not also buying PS4, so that brand loyality is impressive. I couldn't care what the badge on the box says, I just want the best experiences so I hope that I can build a friends network on PSN.

I'm really hoping the OS/PSN store runs a lot smoother than it currently does on PS3. The store just feels so clunky and slow.

Game have some codes up for those that have preordered consoles, pretty uninspiring fiver off a game making most ?45. one for half off some accessories and a code for some 12.99 bluerays meh
