So, has "Next Gen" arrived yet?

first, i don't own a PS4 or Xbox One yet. i was thinking hard about purchasing the Xbox seeing that so many of my XBL friends already made the jump. but on the other hand i really don't see the point just yet. there's not a single game that interests me enough to warrant an early purchase, especially since i just bought a new "steam specced" PC and are happily playing my Crysis games in all it's visual glory - means 1080p at medium settings and roughly 30 fps. most likely i will jump aboard with the next wave of hopefully more next gen-like game exclusives, most likely Titanfall, Second Son or eventually Halo 5.

but i wonder how do the other forum members think of it, especially long time veterans like me who already experienced a few more console hardware launches. has "next gen" arrived for you and in what way?

It's not arrived at all for me yet.

When a must have game is developed that I can't wait for, that's when the next generation has arrived. Hopefully E3 2014 will be the catalysts for some announcements!

If you have a games PC, you may as well stick with it until the console exclusives arrive. Battlefield4 is blowing me away on the One, but I'm sure it'll be more amazing on the PC.

I need to get a PS4 before MGS V comes out. Otherwise I am not fussed, and am perfectly happy with my Vitas.
        Kept you waiting, huh?

I have a PS4. It alright although I kind of feel like a beta tester which I'm sure most Xbone owners do also at the moment.

Same as ETC. I feel that PS4 *is* a next gen machine but there are no next gen games for it yet. Bought mine on spur of the moment but only console games I'm looking forward to are MGS5 and Dark Souls 2 and the latter is on PS3 anyway. No buyer's remorse but it would have been better to wait I'm sure.

Titanfall is on PC and will be the best looking version.

Both definitely lack that one killer game but having them at home they easily show that they offer a big jump on their predecessors. BF4 is the biggest demonstration if looking purely at console editions and technically even that is gimped on all formats due to being required to run on PS3/360.

Now we just need to see the non-current gen originated software appear

                  Will Dark Soul's 2 be on PS4?

For me next gen will kick in proper when the division gets here, that game has me salivating. Oh, and anything by naughty dog, I can't wait to see what they do with the PS4 hardware. So far I've only played Killzone which looks fancy but plays ****e, and knack which I really enjoyed despite it seemingly being universally slated. Had a quick look at NFS before bed last night, to be honest I'm not sure how much of a leap any of these games are over the PS3/360 games.

Quite happy with both my XBox one and PS4 .

Killzone 4 shows off what next gen can do in terms of scale , stunning lighting colour and textures , Battlefield 4 is just epic and kicks the crap of of the XBox 360 version, FIFA 14 is just totally brilliant on the XBox One with stunning visuals and super smooth 60 fps (again way in front of the 360 version) Really enjoying Need For Speed , Ryse is fun game that also shows off the Hardware very well and speaking of the hardware I really like the look , the build and just how quite these new consoles are (big steps forward over the 360 and PS3)

To me the trouble is not the games, it's how much of a backwards steps the new dash on the XBone One is , along with the piss poor install times; massive step backwards

That would be my preferred platform. The better GFX etc. of the PC version but with the security against hackers of the console. As it is I'll probably get it on PS3 rather than PC. I tend to play Dark Souls for extended periods so a sofa is a requirement I think.

Hopefully they'll announce a PS4 version before release and I can decide whether to wait or not.

Love how neither machine has sweet f all coming out for it for months.

I feel that with a gaming PC the large amount of multi platform Western developed titles don't even begin to interest me so have no desire for either. Titanfall looks cool but I'll just stick to my PC ta.

Still think the PS4 looks good though. Xbox One definitely does not.

I'm ok with the release schedule for the new machines, its not crammed but between the 3 consoles theres set to regularly be something I want to play. Maybe Tomb Raider in Jan, DKC5 and Thief and Lego Move and maybe Drive Club in Feb, Titanfall and MGS5 and Infamous in March, Mario Kart 8 and maybe Yoshi's New Island with Elder Scrolls Online soon after that. Plus theres pepperings of BF4 DLC to tick me over. Guess it depends on what interests but I feel at this point (having no backlog of current gen games to play) I'd have struggled more if I was stuck with just the upcoming PS3 and 360 release schedules.

The most odd feeling is that by the time Avengers 3 is at the cinema we could be close to the release of Playstation 5
