Also Tekken Tag, RRV and Timesplitters were all cracking games. Still are.

Tekken Tag and Timespliter weren't launch games, but came months after the 1st hit retail ; that's my point there weren't that many great games for the PS2 the 1st time your or I could buy it (doesn't matter that we had to import it) . I dare say when the XBox 1 and PS4 hit Japan they'll have some better games ready . Timespliters came out some 15 odd months after the PS 2 came out. In the interest of fairness I bet you that a year down the line, the XBox 1 and PS4 will also have some very good games by then .

If you're going to judge the XBox 1 or PS4 by what games they had a month after they 1st hit retail , then do the same to the other consoles , and not try and count western launches some 12 to 18 months after the consoles in question 1st hit the market :P

Some of the best games ever made were launch titles and many other extremely high quality ones too.

These would be ? Other than HALO and NCL taking the piss with the N64 and Snes , most console launches have been pretty adverage or nothing anything better than whats on the XBox 1 . Mega Drive we had Super Thunderblade and Space Harrier 2, PC-Eng you had R-Type, Saturn you had Virtual Fighter, PS you had RR, Cube you had Monkeyball and at a push Luigi, DC you had VF 3Tb, 360 you had COD and PGR 3 , PS3 you had Motostorm at that's it

I've a got Intel i7-2700k 3.50 GHz with 16 Gigs of Ram and AMD Radeon HD7900 more than decent enough for a lot of games, but give me the easy of use of consoles anyday . Trying to get Battlefield 3 to run for the 1st time was a mare , as is the need to log into Orion all the time, Crysis 3 on myPC hates my GFX card half the time and refuses to run and its also a pain the ass trying to validate any brand new game I buy and it wasn't much faster trying to install Max Payne 3 on my PC than most XBox 1 games and even after that I had to download a patch has the game refused to work .

I can't say I've had any issues like that myself. Granted you do get hard conflicts occasionally (my 9800GTX+ hated the source engine) but yeah, I get why a console might be preferable. I like tinkering with stuff personally though so I guess we're the opposite in that regard.

Anyway, console war is over. Gadget show have ps4 half a mark more than xbone lol.

I love the irony of many people saying no need to move on from the 360 . I remember the 360 getting a bit of bashing on here for lack of any new games or games worth buying just a few weeks after its launch

I don't think you understand the meaning of "irony".

There's no reason to move on from 360/PS3 because there's not anything worth playing on Xbox One/PS4 yet.

Don't see much need to jump on board in February either to be honest. I will probably hang on until there is a game I can't resist. Sadly, with the current state of the industry I can't say what that would possibly be. Devil May Cry, Ace Combat, Final Fantasy... all are shadows of their former selves and Capcom, Namco and Square have all totally lost the plot in recent years.

Metal Gear is the biggest draw I guess, but I'm not even as sure of that as I used to be. Is there going to be a next gen LBP? Haven't heard anything so I guess not.

I'm not planning on buying into it any time soon. Definitely not next year unless I get rich quick or someone buys me one as a present. Thanks to the utterly gimped media playback there's no reason at all for me to leave the PS3, otherwise I could have been pushed.

But I at want to at least walk into shops to muck about on demo machines and look at the game boxes!
