Surely you should all be rushing to play the game rather than registering it on Club Nintendo? I know the small print thing is daft an all, but, is it really the first thing you guys do with a game? I've not even set my Club Nintendo account up yet - one year on.

This happened a year ago with a game I can't remember the name of now (or was it on 3DS?). Nintendo back-tracked and gave people what they were entitled to in the end. Although the promotion start date and time wasn't hammered home so hard first time around.

The problem last year involved downloading Pikmin 3 early (GAME sent out codes a few days before release) and then people not receiving their VIP points or being eligible for a discount on TW101. Everything was sorted and people who did download early (myself included) got both eventually.

This time they have been very specific about the time this offer starts whereas last year it was a rather vague reference to the launch date. I cannot understand why registering early would cause Nintendo to blacklist you and I do believe that everyone who registered early will still get the free game offer, but this 10am business was very clearly identified when my PIN code popped up after starting the download at midnight.

Seems that people who registered before the 10am start of the 'free game' promotion have been getting their codes through today without problem. Just registered my copy of MK8 and got my code for Sonic instantly
