Only have a Wii U and pretty much only like Super Mario 3D World which is absolutely amazing but indeed similar to 3D Land. Yet to play my copy of ZombiU though.
The other games I have are fine games but just fail to excite.
I also don't enjoy online games much. I've had more fun with local play in the last year than I ever did with online.
That Rodea game looks terrible. I must be missing something here. Probably one you have to play.

From the posts in here, it looks like the majority of people in here also have a PS4 and/or XBox One.
Just curious, really, based on people saying that the WiiU games are very good, but there are only a handful of them.
Also, let's remember to be gentlemen to each other.
Playing games is a completely subjective thing. Different types of games engage our minds and imaginations in different ways. Some like score attacks, others a narrative and others like free roaming experiences, for example.
We should encourage each other to try things we've enjoyed, but you can't say people are right or wrong if they don't like it.
Other than blasting through SM3DW and a spot of DKCTF, it sits in my cabinet lifeless...my PS4 sale about a year back was a choice taken because i knew it needed a year or two to build up a library, and i expect a revision/price cut before long.
But hey at least i can gain access to my PSN games straight out the gate when i do buy one again...i think one of the key points that irks me about the WiiU is that despite the games released being excellent, there really is nothing new and exciting.
Mario....mario....mario kart....mario party.....mario maker.........Am i mario'd out? Nah, but something much more is required, and something more than deep japanese obscurities like W101.
People want options on ANY device, and sadly nintendo are guilty of royally ****ing up 3rd party support.Last edited by PaTaito; 11-03-2015, 16:45.

It does look terrible. The Wii version (the Yuji Naka one) looks miles better. There are some four year-old videos of it on YouTube.
He said it was a sequel to Nights, so a score/time attack hybrid, only with different characters and setting because he had always wanted to leave Nights alone.

Rodea the Sky Soldier started with an allusion by Yuji Naka in 2010, where he described "a very original action game based in the sky." After some development CVG praised the game's early build ()the above video), drawing comparisons to the game with other games developed by Naka, such as Nights into Dreams... and the Sonic franchise. Naka revealed in 2011 that the Wii version of the game was finished, and needed Kadokawa Games to publish it for a potential release.

Thanks for your feedback, gents. I was curious about WiiU ownership in relation to which other gaming options they have and it sounds like, although there are fewer current-gen combos than I thought, nobody has a WiiU exclusively.
Basically though, I'm pretty sure we're all in agreement that we wish Nintendo were in a stronger position and smashing some hits out of the park that made more people want a WiiU because they're great games, exclusives and only that hardware can run it. There's only a handful of these so far and they're not cutting the mustard.
Also, could you clarify something for me, team? Is Off-screen pad play available to every WiiU game? I've heard that it is and isn't! This is a really strong feature that Nintendo should be pushing, IMHO. Just having a map on the pad screen isn't enough to sell it to me when games with a big game world usually come with a map or you can just print one from the internet.

First-print copies of Rodea the Sky Soldier for Wii U in North America and Europe will include with the Wii version of the game, NIS America announced.
Your Wii should be soft-modded anyway, just in case it didn't.Last edited by dataDave; 12-03-2015, 08:38.
