I think that's the trouble, getting it to tinker with will just result in something less capable and more expensive than most of the alternative options. I strongly suspect the durability of it will be awful too.

Latency aside (and it will have latency because physics) it appears this doesn't have Bluetooth which I assume is why the new wireless earbuds were announced at the same time (as these support PlayStation Link), no using your existing Bose 700 for you, still, at least there's a 3.5mm jack on it.
Sony's headphones are normally pretty good, so if sound quality match the price, they'll probably be fine. I can't wear the Pulse headphones for longer than 20-30 mins though as they're the most uncomfortable headset I currently own - the speakers are set at an angle in them, which means there's is nearly zero clearance on the front-facing side, and rub against you. It's a weird design choice, maybe done for the 5.1 simulation perhaps.
I'd be surprised if outside of LAN streaming works for CGNATed connections, but we'll see.
I think you're better off getting a Razer Kishi and just using your existing kit, this will probably run the same APK.Last edited by MartyG; 24-08-2023, 07:54.

It would have to be a significant miss in QA, it's at 20-30 degrees.
Looks like a pretty deliberate design choice to me, going from about 25mm at the back to 5mm clearance at the front. Try a pair of BeyerDynamics DT 770 Pros then go back to this and tell me it's comfortable to wear.
The pads are utter garbage on them, lacking any kind of resistance in a memory-foam way. It looks like there are some third-party replacements, but the sound quality on PC wasn't great when I tried it, and it requires a USB dongle (and was only stereo on PC). It's probably not worth the purchase.Last edited by MartyG; 24-08-2023, 10:54.

The ones that are bundled in the box? Don't use those either, but they're not £90. For the price I'd expect better quality slightly thicker pads (and so should anyone not buying £2.50 dodgy earpieces from Harry at the carboot sale) that don't instantly squish to nothing and they'd be perfectly useable (I have budget AKGs with better pads) - whether it's a better fit for your head shape doesn't change the poor choice of materials used for them. Sony has better sets with better materials (that I own) for less money, they were just penny-pinching here.Last edited by MartyG; 24-08-2023, 12:24.

I hadn’t paid any attention to the new headsets being announced but now that SIE have bought Audeze and I have discovered the new headsets are planar magnetic based I’m suddenly interested. My little B&W headphones fit poorly over the PSVR2 and need full volume to sound loud enough. I would hope Sony are selling a headset that works well with their own kit.
