      Hogs of War Reheated

Let's hope the 'of its time' sense of humour and Rik Mayall's voice acting are kept in this new version.
They absolutely won't be, and honestly, really shouldn't.

Were they offensive? Stereotypical, sure, but I don't remember anything particularly egregious. I know things have changed since it was released * googles * more than 20 years ago(!) but, still...

It's getting cut, there's no chance it won't...

Heart throb? Tokimeki means the have a crush on something. Well, I guess heartthrob is correct but it sounds silly

Sifu has been getting some decent reviews.
It released for pre-orders on Sunday, so the review embargo ended.
The game didn't release for some, cue some whining.

The game, however has been really well received saying that both the roguelike structure is really well implemented and that the combat is exceptional. It's also pretty tough, with very little hand-holding, so some people are going to struggle with no easy mode.

The people who click with it are likely to really enjoy it, though, and appreciate that every playthrough is improving your skills.

              Video reviews:

‘Sifu’ review: Sloclap’s vengeful brawler is an early game of the year contender
Kick, punch, block as Sloclap's Absolver follow-up marks itself as an early GOTY contender. Sifu is worth playing.

Atsushi Inaba took over as CEO of PlatinumGames a little while back, and has recently been interviewed by Famitsu.

In the interview, Inaba appeared to suggest a larger focus on live service games. He said he would like the company to create more games that “can be enjoyed and loved for a longer period of time”, compared to those in which players play through “one-off, well-designed stages” such as Bayonetta.
Seeing lots of suggestion that the "well-designed" bit is a stretch on the translator's part, but I think the overall sentiment of live service over focused 10 hour experiences is accurate. I would love to just give them (P*) the benefit of the doubt on this, but honestly it's a total downer for me. For now I'm just holding out hope that this ethos hasn't had the opportunity to creep into Bayonetta 3.

Oof, yeah, that's a little bit disheartening. Still, I'm interested to see what they come up with. I think the opportunity for recurring, ongoing revenue is just so tempting from a business perspective, especially for a smaller company like Platinum.

I can see that on their 'Jobs' page they are hiring for a 'Live Service Games Designer'.

If I had to guess, this is more to do with 'Project G.G.', whatever that turns out to be. I think Bayonetta 3 will probably be in line with the previous entries. It certainly looks that way from the footage so far, anyway.

Unfortunately their crowdfunder for The Wonderful 101 demonstrated that they're well up for undertaking slightly scummy practices for coin, so this is indeed a bit worrying.

Grand Kingdom, a rather good and peculiar strategy game made by a few scions of Vanillaware, is going to be delisted from the PS Store in Japan, and this will also signal the closure of servers for online play.
The game is fully playable offline and on your own, but online wars were a pretty big part of the title.
The delisting will happen on February 28th, with server closure happening one month after.

The western servers were closed in 2019 in Europe, four years after the game's launch, but it's still possible to purchase the game. No announcement of a possible delisting for EU and US.

The nVidia-Arm deal is officially dead. Arm will soon launch an IPO that they want to complete within the fiscal year (end of March 2023).

It will earn them more profit by setting it all on fire in a big pile.
