Hogs of War Reheated
Let's hope the 'of its time' sense of humour and Rik Mayall's voice acting are kept in this new version.

Sifu has been getting some decent reviews.
It released for pre-orders on Sunday, so the review embargo ended.
The game didn't release for some, cue some whining.
The game, however has been really well received saying that both the roguelike structure is really well implemented and that the combat is exceptional. It's also pretty tough, with very little hand-holding, so some people are going to struggle with no easy mode.
The people who click with it are likely to really enjoy it, though, and appreciate that every playthrough is improving your skills.

Atsushi Inaba took over as CEO of PlatinumGames a little while back, and has recently been interviewed by Famitsu.
In the interview, Inaba appeared to suggest a larger focus on live service games. He said he would like the company to create more games that “can be enjoyed and loved for a longer period of time”, compared to those in which players play through “one-off, well-designed stages” such as Bayonetta.Last edited by fuse; 07-02-2022, 15:52.

Oof, yeah, that's a little bit disheartening. Still, I'm interested to see what they come up with. I think the opportunity for recurring, ongoing revenue is just so tempting from a business perspective, especially for a smaller company like Platinum.
I can see that on their 'Jobs' page they are hiring for a 'Live Service Games Designer'.
If I had to guess, this is more to do with 'Project G.G.', whatever that turns out to be. I think Bayonetta 3 will probably be in line with the previous entries. It certainly looks that way from the footage so far, anyway.

Grand Kingdom, a rather good and peculiar strategy game made by a few scions of Vanillaware, is going to be delisted from the PS Store in Japan, and this will also signal the closure of servers for online play.
The game is fully playable offline and on your own, but online wars were a pretty big part of the title.
The delisting will happen on February 28th, with server closure happening one month after.
The western servers were closed in 2019 in Europe, four years after the game's launch, but it's still possible to purchase the game. No announcement of a possible delisting for EU and US.

2022 so far: if you're not being clobbered with an NFT, you're being smacked in the chops by a metaverse, and the lates…
