There's a mini version of the official TotK guide available in PDF format here.

It's 75 platinum points but there's also a 40 page free version on the publisher website

          Nice link.

Although, I’ve never understood guides since the demise of cryptics/difficulty in gaming. Especially for games focusing on discovery. Spoiler Books seems more appropriate.

Not everyone's as good at videogames as you In seriousness, the guides are useful for people who might be doing the right thing in a place, but aren't good enough to do it, so they don't realise they were on the right track and get stuck.

Given the internet, I'm amazed people still pay for guides

Yeah I think they're mostly just collectibles at this point.

I remember them being a big deal when I was a kid, especially the Prima Tomb Raider ones. Those were highly prized, especially since they were so expensive (I want to say they were something ridiculous like £20+, almost as much as a game) and would get passed around at school, becoming increasingly dog eared.

Especially given that game artbooks are more prevalent, helping to make guides further redundant.

I've just printed this off for my son.

Thanks for the heads-up, nonny and the suggestion to add it to the bargains thread by Nu-Eclipse.

Have you let him know that Dave will think he's not playing properly if he uses it?

Thank you for telling me, apparently I have no idea how to do it properly.

It's really not difficult to learn how to do.

You copy whatever is after the = sign in the url and add [ youtube ] before and [ /youtube ] after it (minus the spaces I had to add).

I actually use guides myself quite a bit when I feel certain elements are tacked on or not quite integral to what the main game offers. I’m rubbish at finding collectibles generally, so whenever I start a new run on Bayonetta I’ll go straight to GameFAQs to remind myself where all the witch hearts and magic orbs are.

Although on the other hand I know a few people that used a guide from the very start of Elden Ring because they “can’t be arsed” finding things out and exploring by themselves. I find it baffling why they’d even want to play the game if it isn’t their thing.
