Those gold joycons are gonna look rough after even light wear, it doesn’t take many hours of gaming before it starts to look shiny around the buttons on normal coloured joycons. Metallic colours tend to show all scratches and scuffs a lot more. Will def need protectors of some sort that fully encases the joycon shells.

I think for me a lot will rest on the ratio of the new elements and sky areas versus Hyrule. It looks interesting in part and just as I start to lean in a little it veers incredibly hard toward looking like exactly the same game. I understand their reluctance to break away like they usually do but I'd have preferred this to look more distinct from BOTW than it does. Given the series past I'm happy to let the game lead me but it doesn't really seem to sell me on why it took so long, hopefully they are holding back a vast amount of changes and better world/dungeons than BOTW had.

The ceiling skill has the potential to absolutely break the game too. That is a crazy mechanic.

I'm not saying the Switch (or even the WiiU) could handle BotW optimally at all times, but it was enough. Nintendo's focus on efficient gfx and artwork ensured that it was enough. It'll be the same here given that it pretty much uses the exact same engine as its predecessor.
That said, It's probably fair to assume that TotK might well get a port on the new hardware whenever that drops.

We weren’t going to watch the video, but couldn’t resist. Fusing stuff together should be lots of fun.
I’m also a bit gutted that the leaked OLED Switch turned out to be real. I’d be up for one of those but there isn’t a way to buy from Nintendo here. Was hoping for a new Pro Controller to compensate.

That said, TotK isn’t out yet, and Nintendo doesn’t need to worry about a release date (not really) or other hardware, so they may be able to squeeze more out the Switch.

I'm actually of the view that outside of some areas I'd be surprised if TotK didn't run better than BOTW. BOTW was a ported WiiU game and whilst it has a very noticable art style it's a very empty and simplistic game. The Switch should be more than capable of the games visuals and I'd hope that the development having been with the Switch primarily in mind this time and 6yrs dev time would lead to a better performing experience.
